Does your computer have a name?

My old one used to be referred to with epithets like "piece of [img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img]", "turd", "prize [img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img]" and "smurfing [img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img]ehead" quite often. (Not proud.)

But he...this one...is...Gandalf

For those who say your computer has no name, you're wrong :p. All computers have a name. If you didn't name them yourself, a random name was given when Windows was installed on them.

From what I"ve seen of linux installs (ubuntu) they ask you to name it immediately, so counter-owned baby.

If you're using a mac, Apple probably named it before they created it, as much as they love their special babies.

Yes indeed, all other systems need a name too, so they can be identified on a network.

My computer name is simple. It is calles "Sony Vaio", or just call it the computer because its not really a necessity to me. But my PS2 on the other hand gots a name. I call it Niko (because my dead cat knocked it over alot, so now I call it Niko as a tribute to my old buddy.)

I have WINGOES [windows XP desktop - rarely used], GOEnix [slackwaredevelopment], GOEweb [slackware webserver], GOEgames [my mmo testing server], GOEbox [my testing box. Tried Gentoo and hated it again

slack ftw], and GOEintosh [my mac laptop]. My pc laptop remains nameless.

I have to yet buy a beefed up windows box, and a desktop mac. So yeah I will have to come up with another goe name.
