I only use MSN. The only messenger I've been using for the past few years. I only talk to a handfull of people. With people I know online-only, convernsations usually do start with "Hi, How are you?" but I think I talk to more IRL people on my MSN list and we usually just start msging each other with something random and not the typical "How are you?".
MSN and yahoo are always open. MSN doesn't really get used much because the people on my friends list just don't seem that talky. Yahoo get's used a lot more because that's where any of my family and real life friends and I talk if they use IM thingies. Without that, I would be a ghost because it <i>isn't</i> just that easy to call someone.

I only use webmsn, I odn't feel the need to install it and I'm hardly online there! It's fast if u wanna talk to someone without pm but personally I prefer pm on a forum!
Google Talk is not bad either!
I'm almost always signed onto AIM, but I rarely talk to anyone. I have 1 friend that I consistently talk to on it. And everyone on my main screenname, I have met in real life. People I haven't met, get tossed to a secondary name. People in college are almost always signed on, but rarely ever there, it's kinda funny.

I use MSN and Skype. Espicially MSN. I like it a lot, but I don't really have people on it, that I haven't met IRL. Out of my 30-40 contacts I have about 4 'cyber' friends.
The IRL contacts are just old friends from school, family, etc. And I find it nice to 'have them around'.
I use AIM cause the RP group at Bleachforums makes chats there daily.
I sometimes use Yahoo since we host voice chats. n_n Those are fun. ( By the way - EoFF should have more of those. =/ )
I hardly ever use MSN. -shrug-
No one from EoFF ever IMs me anymore. xD

AIM's how I keep in touch with 90 percent of the people I know. The other 10 percent is on MSN, which are probably the most important people in my life. I used to have yahoo, but I don't really talk to any of those people anymore, they're never on anyway. IMing is great fun though.
Also I have these weird Spanish guys that attack me on msn, I tried blocking them, it got rid of most of them, but on some email address I just can't delete or it kicks me off msn entirely, it really bites.
MSN for me, only because I can't be bothered installing anything else.
