I come from Newcastle, so I don't struggle with the Geordie accent at all, and I understand pretty all others. A lot of people struggle with the Geordie accent, though -- So I only speak it at home to my parents and brother as we don't live in Newcastle anymore. When I'm with my friends or people from this area my accent adapts to speak like them, too. I don't make it happen... it just does.

I think Scottish a bit hard to catch sometimes, but I still think the accent is lovely. Given enough time listening to any accent, I can usually understand the gist of what someone is saying even if their accent is super thick.

I have no problem whatsoever understanding people from the north of england, and scotland. But I cannot understand people from Dublin even though I'm from the same island and I'm in the city at least 4 times a year. I remember having a conversation with a taxi driver, and I had to get my mate to talk to him instead while I just sat in the back staring out the window; i couldnt understand him.
