What do you do in situations that involve a child asking about things they aren't supposed to know (i.e. sex)?
I usually just avoid the situation and try to make them forget about it. Hey, it's better than lying.
Lie to them and tell them some sort of fairy tale or anything else non-sensical.
Tell it to them straight, and shatter the tiny, protected world they've been living in.
Run away screaming.

I feel a bit strange, because I've known about sex and drugs for as long as I can remember.
I was certainly naive as a kid, but I at least knew about sex and drugs.
Luckily my little ones haven't got to this point yet. However, with my five year old nephew, I found that if you use really big words and give them a complicated answer, they'll leave you alone about it, and immediately go ask their parents.
My sister in law hates it when I do that. I dread the day she does it to me...
I've never really been asked, but I think it'd be best to kind of tell it to them based on what's appropriate of their age, rather then flat out tell them/lie.

Give them enough information to satisfy their curiosity, without going overboard.

I'm gonna make my husband deal with those questions when the time comes.
Depends on how they are related to me. A friend's or family member's kid? I'd lie or tell them to ask mommy. A stranger's? I'd tell the truth. My own, or one I had jurisdiction over? I'd tell the truth.
I'd tell them the truth, but it would be a child freindly version of the truth. My little sister is more perverted than me, an she's only seven. She has been corrupted, an it makes angry.I think it's disgusting when older people try an pervert children.
With that particular question? I'd pop in a porno and make them watch. Then I'd tell them they're supposed to do that with their little friends. Then I'd get arrested.
