Now what do you think of when you hear or read the word "Veteran"? Me personally, I think of wrinkly old fart soldiers who wheel themselves out four times a year even though they're clearly almost dead, yet somehow manage to stay alive just so they can put on those old fighting uniforms and just for one day, be young again. They're back in their pomp, they're back ON TOP OF THE GAME, SON!
And, much like those soldiers, the members up for nomination in this award are also wrinkly old farts. Well, some of them are. To be honest i've hardly heard of some of the others, let alone known they'd been here long enough to be considered a Veteran, but I think that probably belies my own "age" more than theirs. But, I speak harshly. All of them are here because they have stuck around this hellhole for longer than most, and they have obviously been upstanding members, otherwise they would have been banned long before now. Let's take a little in depth look at our nominees!
Cz - George has been a member at EoFF for a long time indeed. I can think of lots of nice things i'd like to say about him, but the fact he's a dirty dirty Arsenal fan keeps rearing it's ugly head.
But even that fact can't take away from Black Mage 121's status as an all round top bloke. He definitely deserves this award, he's funny, he's a nice guy, he's intelligent and he doesn't make a nuisance of himself. In case you're wondering, yes, I am trying to lobby to get him on the CK's. I've been voting and nominating him for that Ciddie for ages.
Dr Unne - Out of all the nominees, the longest standing member of all. He seems more like a deity than regular member, as if this catagory is
too low for him. Not to knock the award, mind, merely trying to emphasize Unne's status on these forums. I mean, there is a lot one could say about Dr Unne, he's done many positive things in his stay here at EoFF, he's been a fine admin in his time, contributed the best FF1 site on the internet to EoFF for it's use, hell, he's a dab hand at the old Origami and consistently knocks out beautiful works that dazzle the EoFF public. Being on Leeza's good side is always a plus in any situation, too.
Iceglow - Iceglow already has one cheerleader in his quest for a ciddie, his partner Twisted Tinkerbell. He's been around for a while now, under various usernames. I think he's been traumatised by sending Loony BoB his hair, but that's understandable, it's happened to a few people. Anyone who sticks around EoFF after Towns does unspeakable things to their hair is worthy of their spot in this award. Handsome devil he is, too.
LunarWeaver - I'll be honest, my knowledge of LunarWeaver is restricted to knowing he posts a crapload of usernotes in peoples usernotes that I also post in, and him and Keith have some sort of thing going on for each other. According to his profile he was trained by one-eyed ninja parrots and he wants to live in a purple tractor, and it's this sort of mental state which is very necessary in being able to stay at EoFF for long periods of time. My own ignorance is no reason to discount the man from this award, though, as he is obviously much loved among the people. I also am working against a time limit here so I'm pretty much talking out of my arse without looking up on these people, so SORRY :laughing:
Maxx Power - Towns told me that I should "just go on about the simpons character Maxx Power! He's the only simposons character who's been up for a ciddie! ha ha!" But then I thought that was kinda sucky and made me glad for Maxx that Towns isn't writing this speech this year. That being said, this effort is piss poor as well. I know Maxx loves Machine Head and sucks at Guitar Hero. He also has his EoFF going to the moon project, which is a quality idea and more people need to contribute to it. Expect a strong showing, with his bunch of Pirate Red Mages showing their love.
Meat Puppet - Now, some of you might not know this, but MP and I have had run-ins in the past long before he came to EoFF. Well okay, not LONG, but still. And if you'd have told me back then that he'd be here today in a Ciddie like this, i'd have probably laughed at you and called you something crude. However, times change, and so do people, and MP has become one of the most valid members of the EoFF community. He is the undisputed master of usernotes, even if the company he chooses to associate himself with there is rather...poor. Consistently funny, and willing to help out (See:Wiki), MP is a definite contender for this award. Shame Devil-Cloud didn't walk the same path.
nik0tine - I think I have bitten off more than I can chew with this speech. I'm running out of time. I would have had done this much more efficiently, if it was not for this member. That azn girl with the weird face that nik0tine posted all over the place a while back warped my brain forever and now i'm broken. Other than warping minds, nik0 provides us all with quality works in the form of his music and poetry, and is a fierce debator in the EoEo forum. Please vote for him so he doesn't post that picture again.

Rye - Oh dear. It's a sad state of affairs when you can buy yourself a nomination for best Veteran by selling yourself to the members.
Our resident strumpet has been providing mighty service to the EoFF members for years now, so it's no surprise she finds herself in the mix for this award. A sad day for the Ciddies indeed.

Sephiroth1999AD - Sephiroth1999AD is almost as old as Dr Unne, if my memory serves me correctly (which it probably doesn't.) He's one of the most frequent posters in the gaming forums and is a huge help to many people, and has been doing this for as long back as I can remember. Pretty much defines the word Veteran (at a Final Fantasy message board, at any rate.)
Slade - Slade are one of the most recognisable acts of the glam rock movement, and were at their peak the most commercially popular band in the UK. The band is possibly most famous for the song Merry Xmas Everybody (released December 1973), which is now one of the most iconic British Christmas pop songs.
The Captain - Really, I could go on and on about The Captain and about what a great guy and great poster he is, but it's all been said before, because EVERYONE knows it. So I'll just say that this guy definitely deserves to be here, and may he stay around because him being here means EoFF is a better place.
