His speech jacks me up every time.
I may be the only person here who wasn't terribly fond of him.
The scene you posted always sends shivers down my spine, never mind that speech. I always rather liked Theoden.
Just had a very surreal moment here at work. Just starting my shift and I opened this thread to enjoy with my morning cup of tea. My colleague sat next to me (Chris Hill) pipes up and says "That's my Uncle Bernard". It turns out that Bernard Hill is his Dad's Uncle. Bernard was born in Blackley, Manchester.
I spent the last five minutes trying to convince him that famous watercolour artist Ann Blockley was my Dad's Auntie. He wasn't buying it.
Theoden was the best king though I always wondered who exactly was he king of? His kingdom looked like it was mostly plains and a couple small towns. And then Fanghorn where nobody goes.

As much as I enjoy Theoden's rousing speeches, this one is definitely one of my favourites in how poignant and touching it is as it depicts loss that no parent should ever have to face. It doubles as a fine moment for both Theoden and Gandalf:
