Thread: Super Mario 64 Console or Handheld?

  1. #1

Default Super Mario 64 Console or Handheld?

Which Mario 64 game do you prefer the N64 version or the DS version? I prefer the N64 version over the DS version because I had more control over Mario...It was difficult for me to make Mario run around because there was no joy stick instead there was a touch screen. I kept falling off ledges because the control scheme wasn't modified for the DS!

The 64 version was much better, more control is the major issue. Not like the DS version isn't worth buying for the extra features, but the 64 game is much less of a strain to play.

    And...you know...all those glitches!

You know, you don't need to play Mario 64 DS with the stylus, I find it easier to play using the standard controls.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

Yeah but how do you make Mario run then? I just couldn't figure that out.

Oh man, pressing a single button along with the direction to make mario run on the ds version was so hard.

I like the 64 version more, simply because of the controls. o.o

Neither. I dislike Super Mario 64 with a passion.

To me, it's one of the most overrated games of all time.

The N64 version for the controls, yeah. Even though it was cool to play as more characters, it didn't really make up for it.

The mini games alone are enough to warrant a buy, though. :P

Tell me if you dislike Mario 64 so much why did you even bother posting on this thread? You saw the title it said Mario 64 not Mario Sunshine.

I much preferred the 64 original, it was easier to control. The DS had simply addicting minigames though. I probably played that on the DS port more than the actual game.

I loved playing as Luigi, and his extra high jump made the game even easier quite often.

Because he has an opinion on the game, and not everyone who posts here has to like it.

I liked the 64 version better.

The only thing that kind of sucked about Mario 64 in my opinion was the absence of Yoshi. Well you can see him again after you collect all one hundred and twenty stars...But you can't ride on Yoshi during any of the levels.

I played the DS version for a good solid three minutes and didn't like using the D-pad as much as the analog stick. N64 for the win.
