Biggs and Wedge naturally. Since VII anyway, as I haven't played below VII.

Not the ones in FFIII DS, and not sure about FF Tactics.Musical similarities in FFs:
- The Prelude theme in almost all of the FFs
- The Prologue / Final Fantasy theme in several FFs, either at the beginning of the game or in the end
- The Chocobo theme
- The Fat Chocobo theme
- The battles have a similar intro in many of the FFs (1-6 and 9)
- Victory fanfare
- The Moogle theme
People dislike FFIX because they're horrible idiots. - Kawaii Ryűkishi
"One-Winged Angel" is far and away the best final boss song ever
composed. - Kawaii Ryűkishi

Often there's a loner-type character.
FF VI: Shadow
FF VII: Vincent
FF VIII: Squall(Later on he opens up to the other characters)
FF IX: Amarant
FF X: Auron
And the main character's love intrest is usually a white mage or have really good magic abilities.

From VII onwards(dunno about XII or before VII) all FFs contain a Masamune.
FFVII: Sephiroth's super long, super cool original katana version.
FFVIII: Gilgamesh's sword collection(dunno haven't see him use it before).
FFIX: Zidane's super large thief sword.
FFX: Auron's celestial weapon with a hook-like end.
All of the main numbered FFs have a Masamune (dunno about XI, but I don't know why they'd leave it out)
FFI: Best weapon in the game, wieldable by any class.
FFII: One of the best weapons, casts Haste for free.
FFIII: One of the legendary weapons in Eureka.
FFIV: Edge's best weapon.
FFV: One of the sealed Kuza weapons, gives an Initiative-like ability to the wielder.
FFVI: Kerfunkled as 'Aura', it is one of Cayenne's best katana.
FFT: Yet another superb piece of equipment that can be stolen by Marquis Elmdor.
FFTA: Teaches the 'Two-Swords' ability for Ninjas.
Some of what I've read are RPG traditions, not necessarily FF traditions.
The things I could not do yesterday, I shall not fear to attempt today, for I shall never give up on tomorrow. - Alexia Lynn Elesius (Wild ARMs Crossfire)
Masamune
Chocobos(exception of FF I)
Moogles(exception of FF I and FF II)
Ragnarok
Excalibur
Cid
Summons(exception of FF II and Bahamut appears in FF I but couldn't be summoned)
FF XI has Ninjas too. And Amarant should be counted as a Ninja since he can throw weapons and equip Ninja gear
Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"
