If you take out rubah cheating, it seems a good majority of EoFFers realize "soda" is the correct term. For once, EoFF isn't sucking. G'job.

I call it pop, because I am not an idiot.

the plague known as brand marketing at its finest. I mean, most everyone calls facial tissue Kleenex. Also , in the middle north here (of America) it is rather interchangeable, but most say pop. You can really use either or here.

Pop is midwestern US slang for carbonated drinks.

The Coca Cola bottling company was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, which is very much in the south of the US. Being such a southern marketing power house, they came to dominate the market (more or less) and making their product name unanimous with the types of drinks they create.

Being a northern boy staying in the south right now, I'm finding it hard to adjust to the fact that everyone everywhere always is serving coke always. I'm more of a Pepsi fan.
