I have no idea about going out of the country, but the D.C. area is the fastest growing job area in the country due to the growth of government jobs. It's an unfortunate trend, but still a good place to go to look for work. And going 3,000 miles to the opposite side of the country is kind of an adventure by itself.
I'm not sure how much cruise lines would be hiring with the overall poor economy. It's pretty much a tough market all over.
