EDIT: Oh, and this video just makes me loathe the typical midwestern mentality even more.

Makes me hate living in the midwest even more than that. I couldn't get past 30 seconds of that video without feeling disgusted.

Sadly, people like that aren't unique to America, or any single portion of America. There are Canadians who seriously can't remember who Paul Martin was (for those who aren't from Canada, he was Prime Minister not even four years ago, and Finance Minister for almost a decade before that). The saddest part is when I talk to reasonably intelligent people who actually do keep up with politics who have utterly moronic notions about a politician or how to run a country.

Anyway, I have to other thoughts on that video:

1) It's hilarious in the "oh , I can't believe these people have the right to vote, please take it from them," kind of way.

at a guess i would say 1/20 americans can acually name the u.s. presidents
