VATS + melee is just gorgeous though, regardless of the weapon.
I was massively disappointed when I made a character specced for melee. Even the Super Sledge wasn't really that great when everyone was shooting my face off before I was in range for VATS But I did install a mod for a lightsaber which was really fun xD
