True, but it's extremely fanboyish to whine about changes to new installments of a series as if you're being forced to play them. If it's "killing" you, then why keep playing them?

So yeah.
Awh, you guys don't have to fight over little old me!
Really though. What am I a fanboy of again? I guess I put FFVI and VII in there a little too much, but it's not like I hate the newer ones or anything that isn't steampunk. Here's my ranking of favorites when it comes to FF:

VII, VI, IX, IV, XII, VIII, X, II, V, I, III.

Love them all. Can't stand the tendency for the new ones to spam amazingness just about everywhere, though - It looses the charming effect for me. In FFVIII it was fine; Esther was awesome because it was nothing like anything else on the planet, and the Gardens were relatively unique as well.

But ever since Bevelle in FFX, it seems like just about every airship, building, machine, power-up, and gun has to be made out of some kind of weird, shiny, metallic design/architecture with colorful works of art all over. (Almost as if the developers are afraid it wouldn't be 'fantasy' enough without all that fluff.) Anyway, I'm glad they're going to shake things up a bit with FFvXIII where things don't look so... contrived. Does anyone feel me on this one?

And I guess I need to put a giant IMHO at the end of this
