Ah, wonderful, people who don't even bother to read more than the name before bashing the system.
The 3DS is a completely different system than the DS or DSi. It will be backwards compatable, but it is still a new system. Games built for the 3DS will not be playable on the DS or DSi. It is not simply another rerelease of the game hardware, the way the DSi was.
The 3DS will not require glasses to achieve the 3D effect. It uses a parallax barrier system which sends two slightly different images two different directions. The result is that anyone within a particular point in front of the screen will get to view a stereoscopic image without needing the glasses.
If you want to bash the system, all well and good, but please try to be accurate about it.
