Well I vote for Verdana rather than serif and san...it's my choice then...
Verdana is sans-serif.
And yes, it is a god amongst fonts.

On a screen: Sans-serif.
On paper: Serif.

Now that I understand the discussion at hand:
Sans-serif. Purely because that seems to be what I'm familiar with.

Correct.
Not sure why it's correct (there's a proper theory on it somewhere probably), it's just something I was taught and seems to work just like they say.
Most businesses insist on Arial 11 for printed letters in my experience, though, and there seems to be a universal hate for Times New Roman.
