No.
I'm a scientist, or more specific, a researcher. We do things simpler. We get lots of money from companies to basically do whatever the hell we want, inside a particular field, and only really have to account for our time for about 20 min every week, which being skilled speakers, we can talk our way out of with legitimate problems, whether they really occur or not. The only reason any progress is made is because we get bored and science turns out to be our hobby as well.
Also we have cake. Lot's of it. Because we're awesome.
