Correlation does not equal causation. The quality of education at private schools which would have such rules is not determined by those rules.

The merits of dress codes can definitely be debated (further argument against such outright dismissals of complaints), but there's absolutely nothing wrong or unusual with resenting being subjected to arbitrary rules.
