I think more harm comes from the fact that it gets really close to and a times even touches your face on the way into the mouth than actually ingesting the food.

That's not enough for some people. My mom drinks nothing but water and she is 40 and she still gets acne sometimes. I think these things are genetic so I'll probably be the same ;_;
