That's not true. I could claim to be anything. I could claim to be the Mafia Godfather and actually be a vanilla townie.

Well, I'm probably dead no matter what but I'm a Bus Driver. My role works by switching two characters. Last night I targeted Jihl Nabaat and Orphan, so in a way I am responsible for Orphan's death. The first night I targeted Kefka and Jecht and nothing happened.

Roleclaiming within the first couple days is just plain awful playing, or doing it just for tits and giggles. I remember seeing this in past games, where someone would make a stupid roleclaim, and many get down on their necks crying mafia when it turns out they're town, and its also true the other way around, where mafia would scream Bomb or Jester! to stop getting votes. We don't need any of that ccrazy trout here.
