The Phantom Pain is actually MGS: Ground Zeros!?!?!

For those of you who saw the VGAs a new game called the Phantom Pain was unveiled, but rumours and speculation were swirling since the reveal. Kojima was on hand for the VGAs (they even congratulated him and Konami for the 25th anniversary of MG).

The studio head is named "Joakim Mogren". Switch the letters in Joakim around and you get Kojima.

I spent most of last night on facebook winding my friend up about this not being MGS5. He failed to notice me pointing out all the things that say it is.

It definitely looks great whatever it turns out to be.

I don't know what's up with the amputation but it really seems like Big Boss, especially since he has a head bandage that covers up his right eye. There's something rising at the end that definitely seems Psycho Mantis-esque. I'm also thinking the other guy with his whole head wrapped up might be the burned man from the debut trailer. Or the guy who's actually on fire is.

I don't know what this is going to have to do with the story and I'm a little scared to find out.

I saw Joystiq's coverage of this today and I'm pretty interested. Ground Zeroes looked killer, and it'd be no surprise to see Kojima trolling everyone with this. Which is hilarious. I love the guy.

Still need to watch the actual trailer for this though. I spent more time reading all the crazy conspiracy theories surrounding it.
