Majora's Mask was one on my to do list, but I am still holding out hope for the 3DS remake before plunging into it on the Gamecube (Zelda Collectors Edition)
While I do regret never trying the NES Zeldas, I need to prepare myself mentally for them. I am not ready for "NES hard" level of games.

Do you have a Wii or Wii U? I think you can get Majora's Mask off of the eShop.
The port on the Collector's Edition is really, really, really bad and crashes ALL the time. I have no idea if the port on the eShop is the same one or not but yeah it caused me a lot of frustration, especially given that MM has save points so you could very easily lose loads of progress if it crashed - and it'd regularly crash every couple of hours.
