That happened to me Rantz, TWICE. Well not that exactly but similar. I had got to redcliff and was just letting it auto save. Well then during the event it glitched out and wouldn't finish the event. It auto saved during the event so I had to restart it all. Another time my file got corrupted around the same point. OH YEAH also at the end. Don't save like right at the final battle it wont allow you to finish it. You have to save right before and just reload that save if you die.
Great game but pretty glitchy.

Are you guys selling everything to Bodahn at the camp? Don't do that. Bad things happen when a merchant exceeds 1000 slots.
This is Polly, named after an EoFF account, she is a noble and a proud Aeducan warrior and she has lots of braids in her hair because dwarves like braids in their hair and in their beards.

But first we're going to watch the Provings, where dwarves do battle to prove their honor. Dwarves are really big on honor. Today the Provings are being held in my honor, since this is my special day and all. Father is hoping one of them will woo me with their large sword and I can make more Aeducan babies with a worthy mate. On the way we run into my brothers, Trian and Bhelen.
Trian is all like, "why are you here you should be in the throne room for the feast this is your special day you are so ungrateful blah blah blah" he is such a dick. Nobody even likes him, everyone thinks he'd make a super troutty king. Good thing we elect our royalty. Anyway the feast is like, a kajillion hours from now. Am I just supposed to sit in there and twiddle my thumbs until it starts? Bhelen just stands there and watches. Way to help me out, bro.

So we go onto the Provings. In fact, I think I should enter the Provings. Instead of proving their worth by battling each other these warriors can have the honor of battling me!
I kick all of their asses and give the last guy the prize, a Proving Helm. I've got a million of them in my quarters. They're heavy and take up a lot of space

Polly moves between a lot of weapons? When talking to her shoddy siblings, she rocks two swords, and when proving, it looks like she picked up something greater.

There are a variety of characters you get in your party in addition to yourself, although you don't get to create any of them, they're all pre-set characters (you still get to allocate skills as they level up, but not anything they have when you get them).
Also, the romance portion of the game is easily the least interesting part of the game and borders on irrelevance to me. I do my best to not get involved.
Alistair, of course, is the worst. Sten is pretty good, the dog you get for being a human noble is the best.

Alistair is my favorite person to romance because of how well it ties into the main plot, but I'll let you guys pick. Or Polly can be a strong independent dwarf who don't need no booty.
