Pretty much couldn't agree with this less. Even if you don't like the actual mechanical changes like the weapon affinities and storm rushes and things, being able to play multiplayer in the actual campaign is a massive upgrade.
Weapon Affinities have been around for a long time, and Story multiplayer has been around since at least the 4th game.
