I just finished Game of Thrones (book). The first season of the show follows it pretty well! I was impressed.

On to book 2.

Yeah, I read and watched them at the same time and it was good fun. The books and show get farther apart from each other, with character deletions and other characters picking up for the deleted ones... storylines are moved up or pushed back, and lots of scenes are invented for the show. I quite like everything they do though.

Is the set change purely show-based?
