    Default Crash Bandicoot (Series)

I noticed there wasn't a topic dedicated to Crash Bandicoot, so I decided to rectify this grave injustice by bringing up Naughty Dog's favorite Bandicoot! And I know there are Crash fans among you! I've seen you lurking in the shadows o.o

I was introduced to the franchise through Crash 2 (always with the 2's) Cortex Strikes Back! It was frigging awesome! My next Crash games after that would be the first one and the third one. Then I played Crash Racing and the fighting game, and that's where my Crash Bandicoot experience ends. I haven't played any of the newer games and haven't heard anything good about them either.

Talk about your Crash Bandicoot experiences here!

Crash 1-3 and CTR were amazing. Crash Bash was a pretty fun party game. The rest have been mediocre and make me cry.

Well, it seemed pretty party game-ish with a bunch of random minigames and stuff. I dunno if it went beyond two players, because I never had a multitap.

Never played one, except with playing a few from a few times at my cousins.

That and crash team racing at Bobs recently, which I rocked (minus Shauna wooping everyone's ass)

Shauna represent! Now go and play the first three Crash games for the PlayStation, Mr. Shauna.

What ever happened to that female bandicoot you go to rescue in the first game? She was a big deal in the first one, you rescue her, and then she disappears forever and Crash suddenly has a sister. WTF, man?

It was uh, probably because Tawna Bandicoot was too sexy for the target audience.

I only ever played Crash as a demo when my cousin got her PlayStation for the first time. I don't really like scrolling games.
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

I've played all of the crash trilogy. I was introduced to the games with Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, which was my favorite for the longest time. Nowadays I like the first two better, though.

Crash 1- never completed, got up to the second world, before getting too frustrated because of the lack of save feature.

Crash 2- completed like a zillion times. downloaded on psp, still play to this day.

Crash 3- completed it a few times.

CTR- downloaded on psp, still play to this day.

Crash 4- completed it about twice.

I've only ever played the first one but it was excellent. Never actually completed the smurfer though. I've got it downloaded for my Vita so I should really get on that at some point!

Crash Bandicoot is pretty great. Crash 2 was my childhood so I might be a bit biased, but it is still my favorite 3D Platformer, if not platformer in general, to date. I love Crash 3 just as much and I've actually gotten all 30 Platinum relics once. That took a lot of time investment.

I played Crash 2 and 3 too many times to count. I never played Team Racing or Bash because we never had them , nor did I play the first game until just a few years ago thanks to PSN. I didn't complete it though, just like maybee, I was frustrated with the lack of save points and when I had to redo a couple levels multiple times, it was too much.

I did play Crash 4 (Wrath of Cortex) and 5 (Twinsanity) and I'd say they're both still worth playing. Crash 4 still has the same layout and basic feel of the original Crash games, although the level design and difficulty aren't nearly as good. I also never got the final Platinum relic on what I believe was the second underwater level.

Twinsanity feels different in many ways, but it's still good. Its level design is quite good, although the level layout can be pretty confusing at times. A few times I ended up replaying parts of the story because I took a wrong turn. I also like the secret gems in that game, most of them are well-placed and not too cryptically hidden. Last but not least, the soundtrack is freaking awesome. Not necessarily because it's that great music, but because it's entirely acapella. It's wonderful.
