You know, the only reason you Americans don't call chicken burgers chicken burgers is because the beef industry lobbied to have only beef burgers legally recognised as burgers. Before that, you called chicken burgers chicken burgers, just like us.

No! A burger can be any minced or ground meat. A chicken burger would be made of ground chicken, not a whole chicken breast. If you have a chicken breast on a roll, that is a chicken sandwich.

It isn't beef that makes a burger, the the ground consistency. Turkey burger! Pork burger! Veggie burger! A slab or portobello isn't a mushroom burger! It's... Well an abomination for starters, but it's a mushroom sandwich!
