Looks like Persona 5 might be getting the FES/Golden treatment soon.

There have been a lot of rumblings and teasers from Atlus recently concerning the P5 IP and most people imagine it's because we'll be getting a Director's Cut version like FES or Golden. So what do you hope to see in this version? What do you hope not to see?

I'd prefer not to see a relentless dungeon crawler followup like The Answer. The Answer was alright but suffered significantly from removing the non-dungeon crawler aspects of the main game.

What would I like to see? I don't know. New social links and new locations/available after school activities seems to be the standard and that works fine for me. It might be nice to balance some extra social links with more ability to spend time during some of the long stretches of story sequences spanning multiple calendar days, which harm the pacing of P5 a bit.

I want you to be able to play as a girl, and I want you to be able to romance any character, regardless of gender.

    ALSO ROMANCE AKECHI

Would romancing Akechi affect the plot or no (not that it usually does for other characters)?

For me to some extent the opposite although more an issue for P6 than a director's cut for P5 because I don't want them to take away stuff. I'd like there to be characters of both genders for whom romancing is not an option. It's just a bit too much to me that you can romance every female social link. At least in P3 and P4 you couldn't romance every female character, even if it was just kids and elderly woman that you couldn't....wait I guess you can't romance Makoto's sister. That's something. Sure, it's kind of funny that you can romance the teacher and doctor, but also messed up.

Oh, I didn't mean every character in the game, I just meant ones you already had social links with. Basically I just don't like that the game is so heteronormative and would like some gay options.

    Yes !

Being a girl in P3P was pretty cool, I'd love to see that option more in the series. I'll echo that, and LGBT routes with social links.

And yeah, The Answer. That was one big awful grind with no breaks. I need breaks.

It could work. I think it was already a little romantic how Akechi really admired the protagonist in his own way.

I think an Akechi romance could be a pretty interesting social link, especially if you could make some choices in it that could get you another alternate ending.

    this this this

That’s exactly what they did with Adachi. Minus the romance part. Cowards.

I was thinking they did that with Adachi. I don’t think I ever saw the alternate ending though.

It’s the creepiest ending ever. It’s called the Accomplice Ending for good reason

I’ve been playing on my vita a lot more lately. Might be time to play through P4 again and aim for that ending.

Do you get that automatically for maxing Jester or is there a choice?

Rather, Jester only maxes as Jester if you make this choice, which is pretty much when you get the ending.
