I always viewed the cryptic lines as a kind of stoic attempt to get Tidus to do something. He's lived a pretty great life playing blitzball, being famous, and nailing groupies. Although Auron has little control of the situation (it's Tidus' story, not Auron's), I think he is trying to make sure Tidus takes the upcoming seriously. good thread btw
