You pretty much stole that from The Hobbit, only changed a few words.

Anyway, I'm gonna guess the egg at Fort Condor. The original riddle's answer was an egg, and the egg at Fort Condor contains Phoenix Materia and Huge Materia, so two treasures.

Jiro
10-21-2011, 03:03 PM
I was getting all excited because I thought I had the answer and then I saw there was another page. Dammit! xD

Hollycat
10-21-2011, 04:14 PM
Actually it doesnt contain both, it only contains the phoenix materia.
that is not the correct answer.

Karifean
10-21-2011, 04:45 PM
Is it the safe in the Nibelheim mansion?

Hollycat
10-21-2011, 05:43 PM
no it is not, that has a hinge.

Shinwa Tsuki
10-22-2011, 04:58 AM
I am a box without key or hinge, yet inside two treasures are hid.

Hm, I feel it has something to do with a Chocobo for some odd reason.

Hollycat
10-22-2011, 05:03 AM
would you like a hint?

Kyros
10-22-2011, 10:29 AM
Lucretia in her cave when she gives you death penalty and Chaos

Hollycat
10-22-2011, 06:07 PM
nope

hint: ((()))

Shinwa Tsuki
10-22-2011, 07:30 PM
Hint: (())

Huh? Was there something written in the double parentheses?

Rantz
10-22-2011, 08:23 PM
I think it's the Grangalan enemy.

Hollycat
10-22-2011, 08:37 PM
I think it's the Grangalan enemy.

correct!!!!

Shinwa Tsuki
10-23-2011, 05:12 AM
Ah, that's what the hint referred to.

Rantz
10-23-2011, 09:45 AM
Uhm, open round, I suppose.

Jiro
10-23-2011, 12:41 PM
I'd've said those fellas had a hinge, but then they don't really make all that much sense anyway.

Shinwa Tsuki
10-23-2011, 05:59 PM
I think it is because of the Russian dolls toy that the Grangalan(s) are based off of have no hinge. Here are some examples: 2 Clever Blog: Eggs-actly This Many Days to Easter (http://www.2cleverblog.com/2cleverblog/2009/03/eggsactly-this-many-days-to-easter.html), Russian eggs | Flickr - Photo Sharing! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/47822528@N06/5056990992/), and Matryoshka doll - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matryoshka_doll).

Kyros

I thought they open to bring out a medium sized guy, but the medium guy brings out 2 guys making 3 'treasures' inside the original guy so dont get it :P

Jiro
10-24-2011, 01:16 AM
There's actually three little guys in the medium guy. BUT NONE OF THIS IS A RIDDLE. NEW RIDDLE PLOX

TwilightLord
10-24-2011, 08:12 AM
Right, I'm takin' this. This might be easy, but it sounded fun in my head so I wanted to give it a try.

If you want our treasure,
It's hidden out of sight,
Put your hands behind your back
And squawk with all your might!

Just to be clear, the answer I'm looking for is what this is describing. I also want to know what exactly the "treasure" is and where this takes place.

Shinwa Tsuki
10-24-2011, 04:49 PM
Squawk... that sounds like it could be a chocobo or an avian enemy.... Just throwing it out there.

TwilightLord
10-24-2011, 05:19 PM
You're right with one of those. Saying which one would practically be giving it away.

Shinwa Tsuki
10-25-2011, 07:13 AM
Sweet....

Kyros
10-27-2011, 06:39 AM
one of the chocobos at the chocobo farm gives you the choco/mog summon (which is AWESOME), and the little white chocobo gives you the contain materia so I'll guess "chocobos giving you materia"

Jiro
10-27-2011, 08:13 AM
The chocobos also do this weird arm movement during the dance that could be considered "putting your arms behind your back".

TwilightLord
10-27-2011, 10:39 AM
Well, both of you got it, but Kyros was first so he gets the prize. Congratulations!

And yes, the event I was looking for was when the chocobos at Chocobo Farm give you the Choco/Mog Summon Materia. "Squawk with all your might" refers to how you have to pick the option "Waaark!" (as opposed to just "Wark") in order to have them give you the Materia. Put your hands behind your back... basically just means act like a bird.

Kyros

How you even gonna try and call me second best?
I got the baddest one-upped by a factor of six.
If I'm on your side, you can bet I'm gonna please ya,
Blastin' em like a green-haired chick with amnesia.

TwilightLord
10-30-2011, 12:44 PM
The general writing style makes me think of Barret Wallace...

Could the "green-haired chick with amnesia" possibly refer to Terra (Tina) Branford from Final Fantasy VI? If that's the case, then maybe it's referring to magic, since Terra was a magic-user...

I'm going to guess Barret, however, just because of the way the riddle is written. Barret might also be considered "second best" to Cloud. The line about having the baddest one-upped by a factor of six... I'm not too sure about.

o

Shinwa Tsuki
10-30-2011, 05:28 PM
I lightly agree with TwilightLord....

How you even gonna try and call me second best?
I got the baddest one-upped by a factor of six.
If I'm on your side, you can bet I'm gonna please ya,
Blastin' em like a green-haired chick with amnesia.

The general style does strike me as Barret, however I think it is more of something that he can equip.

The first line can refer to it of his which the player can view as second best to another.

The second line can refer to the number of Materia slots - although the 'one-upped' throws me off.

The third line might mean that once equipped, it can please the player as long as Barret is in the party - which makes it less likely to be either an armor or an accessory.

The fourth line can refer to the Materia, and it could also refer to Terra Branford - as TwilightLord said.

Which equip-able item it is, I don't know.

Shaibana
10-30-2011, 08:14 PM
.. i dont know the game too well to think that deep about it :o

musenji
10-31-2011, 05:44 AM
It isn't Barret, nor an equippable item.

I will confirm that line four makes reference to Terra.

TwilightLord
10-31-2011, 09:23 AM
My next guess is Cid Highwind, then.

How you even gonna try and call me second best?
I got the baddest one-upped by a factor of six.
If I'm on your side, you can bet I'm gonna please ya,
Blastin' em like a green-haired chick with amnesia.

"I got the baddest one-upped by a factor of six" could refer to Limit Breaks. Cid's ultimate Limit Break, Highwind, does the most hits out of any Limit Break in the game - even more than Cloud's Omnislash. So this could mean he's got the baddest (i.e. Cloud, since everyone thinks Omnislash is the most powerful Limit Break in the game) one-upped (i.e. he does more damage than Cloud). I'm not sure if he does six times as much damage, but I can't really check that.

"If I'm on your side, you can bet I'm gonna please ya"
Most of Cid's other Limit Breaks also do quite a bit of damage, making him very useful to have around.

"Blastin' em like a green-haired chick with amnesia"
This has been confirmed to refer to Terra, so my guess is that the "blasting" is of a magical nature (since Terra was a magic-user). However, since pretty much anyone in the game can become a "magical" character depending on what Materia they have, I think it might also still refer to Limit Breaks - Cid's ultimate, Highwind, calls down an air strike from the named airship, thereby "blasting" the enemies.

musenji
11-01-2011, 12:57 AM
It's not Cid.

The mention of Terra does not refer to the fact that she was a natural magic user.

TwilightLord
11-01-2011, 07:56 AM
Okay, is it even a character at all then? Because it could possibly be a weapon - maybe one of Barret's or Vincent's weapons that has stats lower than their ultimate weapon, but can perform better depending on how they're used?

musenji

***

It is not a character or a weapon.
Line 4 refers to Terra from FF6, but has nothing to do with her magic ability.

TwilightLord
11-01-2011, 08:20 AM
An enemy then? "On your side" could refer to a skill you can learn from it with the Enemy Skill materia...

Wait a second, is it one of the Weapons? They obviously have the baddest (Sephiroth) one-upped, being much more powerful than he is. Second best... could be Emerald Weapon, I think most people consider Ruby Weapon more powerful. And obviously, if one of the Weapons was on your side it'd be awesome.

I'm gonna guess Emerald Weapon - it has a lot of "blasting" attacks too, as I recall (most notably the Emerald Shoot and Aire Tam Storm moves).

My other thought is an item or accessory, but I'll hold off on that until this guess is confirmed or denied.

musenji
11-01-2011, 09:24 AM
It is not Emerald Weapon.

hint: "factor of six" is an exact figure. The answer has to take that into consideration, so knowing that something is "way better" than something else isn't enough.

TwilightLord
11-01-2011, 11:54 AM
Okay, so let's puzzle this out here.

How you even gonna try and call me second best?
This seems to indicate that the answer is considered the "second best" of its category, either in-universe or out-of-universe.
I got the baddest one-upped by a factor of six.
So in other words, the answer is six times as good as the best of its kind? Or maybe it has six times a specific attribute more than something else... The "baddest" could mean literally "baddest" as in "worst", though, so it could mean that it has six more of something than the worst of its kind. Hmm... Maybe armour with Materia slots?
If I'm on your side, you can bet I'm gonna please ya,
So this is something that would be good to have, essentially. So probably either an item, armour, or accessory. It could also be an enemy, "on your side" referring to either a skill you can learn from it with the Enemy Skill Materia, or taking control of it with the Manipulate Materia.
Blastin' em like a green-haired chick with amnesia.
This line is my stumbling block. It's been confirmed to refer to Terra Branford, but I can't really see a link between her and the rest of the riddle, and we've already established it has nothing to do with magic, so by assumption the answer also has nothing to do with magic, and it's not a weapon, which leaves me wondering what "blastin' em" means... Unless it's an Enemy Skill or an enemy that "blasts" things. It might be referring to when Terra was riding the MagiTek near the beginning of the game... that had guns, as far as I recall. So it might be an enemy with guns, or something...

I don't know. Have I hit on anything here, or are my shots flying way off the mark?

musenji

Okay, so let's puzzle this out here.
Good call! :D

This seems to indicate that the answer is considered the "second best" of its category, either in-universe or out-of-universe.

That is correct!

the answer is six times as good as the best of its kind? Or maybe it has six times a specific attribute more than something else...

One of those is correct!

The "baddest" could mean literally "baddest" as in "worst", though, so it could mean that it has six more of something than the worst of its kind. Hmm... Maybe armour with Materia slots?

Very clever! But incorrect.

So this is something that would be good to have, essentially.
Correct!

Line four doesn't actually compare the answer's method of blasting to Terra's method of blasting. In fact, it does not refer to any of the events of the FFVI game itself. Use of her in the riddle was a bit more cryptic.

Shinwa Tsuki
11-01-2011, 04:18 PM
With the "green-haired" being mentioned, I'm going to guess it could be a green Chocobo or a green Materia. Green Materia is a kind of magic..... Not much else I can think of....

musenji
11-02-2011, 01:02 PM
Nope, the answer is not green.

I will go out on a limb and say Neo Bahamut.

Silent Warrior
11-03-2011, 10:03 AM
Or Bahamut from ZERO?

But that thing about 'chick', 'green', and 'amnesia' stinks of Chocobo (Amnesia Greens, anyone?), but I'll be effed if I can find a way to connect Choco/Mog or a normal chocobo to the rest of it...

Rantz
11-03-2011, 10:30 AM
I think it's Earth Rave, Red XIII's penultimate limit break. I'm not sure about the actual statistics but six times as strong as Cosmo Memory seems about accurate. :P
The final line refers to Terra, which means earth.

Shinwa Tsuki
11-03-2011, 03:35 PM
Hm....I think you're right Rantz.

musenji
11-03-2011, 07:29 PM
Silent Warrior has it!

It's the second-best summon. It has six wings, where Sephiroth, the "baddest", has one. Obviously you like having it on your side. And, finally, the elusive line 4:

Bahamut Zero's attack is called Tera ("Terra") Flare.

Silent Warrior
11-05-2011, 08:01 PM
H-hey, what, am I supposed to conjure up a riddle of my own now? Uh... Right, here goes nothin'. Though I don't know the initial rules, I'll aim for four lines, which may or may not rhyme in any recognized way. *Think, think* *Think, think*

In the darkest depths of past sins
Lies both heaven and guardian of hell
No matter who wins
The light of day will not prevail

Ok, some poetic license, but I doubt you'll find it difficult. I'll try to check in before tomorrow evening, my timezone, but I make no guarantee.

I'm new and not sure if theres any rule to being new but I've got a riddle. Everybody playing seems really good so let's see how this goes:

At first I ignore,
but then I implore.
And when you return in the morn,
my rival I skorn.

Might be obvious. I was really just glad to think up a rhyming riddle for it :p

Shinwa Tsuki
12-02-2011, 04:42 PM
A nice riddle, just one question: By skorn, did you mean 'scorn' or did you write it like that on purpose?

Karifean
12-02-2011, 05:53 PM
Sounds like the scene where the party parts for a short time period at the transition from CD2 to CD3.

Shaibana
12-03-2011, 07:34 PM
easy you say?
pff perhaps if you know every inch of the game xD

Melissaur
12-03-2011, 08:08 PM
Is it when Sephy kills Aeris? You go to sleep and when the party wakes up in the morning you find her. And Cloud is his rival and all.

Cloudpsx1
12-04-2011, 07:30 AM
All wrong so far. And someone asked if I spelled "scorn" wrong on purpose. The answer is no lol. I just typed it up fast cause I didn't want someone to put in a riddle before me.

Cloudpsx1
12-04-2011, 07:58 AM

Haha maybe 8 years ago when I first played it I knew every inch of the game. For the longest time I would play FF7, beat it, and then restart the whole game again. Everytime I played I learned something new. Actually 100% completed the game once. Got Omnislash from the goldsaucer on disc 1, killed Emerald and Ruby, found the secret zach and cloud cutscene, raised and obtained a gold chocobo and blah blah blah a whole bunch of stuff that ended up getting erased by a friend that spilled water on my PS and memory card.....:eep:

chionos
12-04-2011, 07:59 PM
pretty confusing, my guess is something to do with the scene where Tifa hints at needing a hero then Barret begs Cloud to help on the next mission, then they sleep, then the next morning Cloud rags on Barret's snoring. it's the morn+rival that's got me hung up.

Shinwa Tsuki
12-04-2011, 08:59 PM

Heres a hint for the second half of the riddle. It's not an extreme rivalry like Sephiroth and Cloud, Avalanche and Shinra, ect. It's a very small scale rivalry. Not important to the story.

Sorry I didn't know we had swapped to a new page, didn't read this message before. But "Implore" means to beg or ask a question. And "Scorn" means to be-little somebody, mock someone.

Nope :D I was sure somebody was gunna guess it right away, but I'm glad it didn't turn out to be obvious. I will say that it is something small like that you can do.

Shaibana you made a guess earlier that for some reason never loaded on my computer til now, but letting you know that's not it either.

Someone may need to replay FF7 and see if they can find it lol.

chionos
12-06-2011, 05:00 AM
There are several things that can fulfill parts of the riddle, but putting all 4 together causes confusion. There are only so many instances of events having anything to do with morning or a new day, and none of them that I can recall fit the rest of the riddle in any meaningful way.
In any case I'm going to keep guessing at things that can fulfill at least part of the riddle and maybe that'll narrow it down.

Vincent

Cloudpsx1
12-07-2011, 12:24 AM
Not vincent either. it involves you the player doing something. might as well just name every event that involves the next day.

Shinwa Tsuki
12-07-2011, 12:38 AM
An interaction when in control of a character (Cloud, Tifa, or Cid)....

Any thing to do with the climb you first make at Gaea's Cliffs?

Cloudpsx1
12-07-2011, 02:15 AM
No not climbing the cliffs, but yes to the in control of (cloud, tifa, or cid) part. Its a small task you have to do like climbing the cliffs in order to progress.

And just so no one has to back track for the riddle its:

At first I ignore, but then I implore.
And when you return in the morn, my rival I scorn.

Also, to narrow the gap of minimal tasks throughout the game, I'll go ahead and say it involves being in control of Cloud at the time.

Shinwa Tsuki
12-07-2011, 02:43 AM
:laughs to self: Interesting.... As being in control of Cid or Tifa would have drastically narrowed it down.

I'm going to wager that it has nothing to do with the Gold Saucer games (snowboarding, bike escape, etc.).... am I right?

Cloudpsx1
12-07-2011, 03:13 AM
Hahaha it is nothing to do with gold saucer. See! We're narrowing the search lol

Shinwa Tsuki
12-07-2011, 04:30 PM
For some reason, I think the answer deals with Johnny in the Midgar Slums...... Don't know why.

Cloudpsx1
12-07-2011, 08:58 PM
I think Johnny is the red head dude you run into later in the game, if thats who you're talking about then no nothing to do with him.

Shinwa Tsuki
12-07-2011, 10:13 PM
I think so... Here: Johnny - The Final Fantasy Wiki has more Final Fantasy information than Cid could research (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Johnny) (for both of our sake's...)

Cloudpsx1
12-08-2011, 05:35 AM

I think it's the guy in the shop in Wall Market. At first he ignores you but then he implores you to do him a favour. You spend the night at the inn (his rival). Purchase something from the vending machine and take it back to the guy in the shop in the morning. He then scorns his rival because his merchandise is better. He then gives you a Tiara (I think) as part of your disguise to get into Don Corneo's mansion. Is it that guy?

Quick spelling question just to be sure, in the last line you do mean stile not style, correct?

"Avalanche's stile" has me stumped.

Shinwa Tsuki
12-11-2011, 05:28 PM
"Easily missed" makes me think that the answer is an item that can be missed if you don't search for it.

Off topic: Does anyone else think that the Final Fantasy Games (all of them) have the average animal (deers, birds, house cats, etc.) and that we only fight the ones that are a true danger to us (the playable characters)?

chionos
12-11-2011, 06:30 PM
ramuh materia?

Bubba
12-11-2011, 10:15 PM
It's not Ramuh Materia (or any materia for that matter) and the spelling of stile on the last line is completely intentional.

It is definitely an easily missed item (having missed it myself before!) and it is in an area that you can't return to.

The biggest clues probably come from the second and fourth lines. The third line is obscure but relates to the item. There's plenty of clues in there if you look deep!

Edit: here's the riddle again as we're on a new page...

I'm easily missed, though I have no lock
You'll see I come from a rough sea stock
Critters may come and give thanks for a while

Bubba
12-12-2011, 10:07 AM
Congratulations Chionos! You have the honour of the next riddle... the answer is indeed "Leviathan Scales"

I'm easily missed, though I have no lock
You find this item in a chest on the dock before the submarine battle. You can't return to this area once you start the battle.
You'll see I come from a rough sea stock
Leviathan comes from the sea and scales have a rough appearance
Critters may come and give thanks for a while
This refers to Cloud's famous quote when trying to enter the Da-Chao Fire Cave without the Leviathan Scales in tow "That flame would make crispy critters of us in an instant!"
As I sit and weigh up Avalanche's stile
Weigh up again refers to the 'scales' part of the answer. Finally, 'Avalanche's Stile' is an anagram of 'Leviathan Scales'

I may have put a few too many clues in there but good job, Chionos!

rough sea stock + Avalanche's stile eventually did it for me. When you said the spelling of stile was intentional it got me thinking. That third line....so obscure lol.

One's like one but not like the other
This sounds like it refers to chocobos. EVen though they are all the same model they are all different colours.
A protein shake that breaks the mold
I have no idea what this could refer to. This is what made me think of Hero Drink
Rainbow history all from the mother
Again this reminds me of the different types of Chocobos
Round and round and round the gold
The Chocobo Races in the Gold Saucer?

My guess is simply chocobos or chocobo square?

This is close enough so I'll lay it out. (You win btw bubba!)

You nailed that one's like one... was about chocobos
as is rainbow history all from the mother
you start with some normal chocobos and breed them, mixing different colors and feeding them nuts(protein) and racing them around and around the golden saucer until eventually you create a gold which you use to get to the "round island" where you get "knights of the round"

layers upon layers...

The first two lines make me think of an enemy skill obtained by manipulating an enemy... however I can't really think of any enemy skill (or enemy) that fits the last two lines. On the other hand, the fire and flames make me think of the infamous Nibelheim Fire Cutscene - in that case it would be Sephiroth who could be obtained via Cheat Codes ("a measure of control").

Shinwa Tsuki

the answer has to be the Dragon Force enemy skill you get from Dragons in the northern cave

Bubba

Congrats again Chionos! People will think we're in league together soon! Yep, the answer was indeed The Dragon Force enemy skill.

The first two lines were a clear hint towards an enemy skill.

Dark Dragon and Dragon Force obviously share the same name... which is what the third line was referring to.

Finally, yes... Dragon Force 'Through the Fire and Flames' might have been a bit obvious!

My first guess would be Aerith's death, but I don't know what to make of the third line.

This, I knew it wouldn't take long, allow me to explain:

First time seen in Final Fantasy - First time seen is a scene which has blood in it, Aerith's blood.

Shock, horror or hilarity - First time you see this you experience shock at her death horror if you realised all those hours levelling her were for naught, or hilarity if you hated her and you no longer have to put up with her.

From above they descend to me - quite simple really, Sephiroth and the Masamune.

You have to face it, it's reality - perhaps the most obvious of all, how many revive Aerith theories have we seen over the years, way way way to many, despite this the fact that she cannot be revived is reality.

Jiro

Yeah it sounds like the boss fight with Motorball. His little engine thing spins constantly, and you have to stop and then hit escape to flip around and face him to fight (or wait for him to beat the shit outta you...).

Once it's over, the world being your oyster references the fact that you can now travel the world map. Or something.

Bubba
01-08-2012, 11:28 PM
Sorry guys, been out celebrating the Manchester Derby result today...

FFIX Choco Boy has it spot on! The next riddle is yours!

My Engine keeps turning, round and round
Direct reference to the name of the boss. "Engine" refers to "Motor" and "round and round" refers to "ball" (sort of)
It's a cycle that ends, then again to be found
A reference to the motorcycle race that can later be accessed via the Gold Saucer.
Stop, turn and face, then our race is run
Motorball initiates a pre-emptive attack. You turn, face and defeat him.
Now the world is your Oyster, go have some fun.
Jiro is spot on. Immediately after the battle the entire FFVII world is before you and you're on your way to Chocobo Farm... and the hard core among you will attempt to learn the "Beta' enemy skill very soon.

Hmmm... this has put me in the mood for another playthrough...

Jiro

Is it the "flashback" sequence in Kalm?

That shouldn't be like that,
but it sure is creative.

Obviously something is wrong. The flashback is actually not 100% accurate, but it makes for a good story and is therefore creative.

Is it wrong to be jealous
of the main villain?

Not sure what this one really refers to, but the main villain is generally assumed to be Sephiroth and Cloud was definitely in awe if not completely jealous/envious when talking.

If I wasn't before,
Now I'm most definitely
intimidated.

Cloud talks about how psycho Sephiroth's skills were. Most of the party, as of yet, were unaware of his actual powers and so for Cloud to describe it like he was invincible etc would have definitely made them intimidated.

Here's the riddle again.

That shouldn't be like that,
but it sure is creative.
Is it wrong to be jealous
of the main villain?
If I wasn't before,
Now I'm most definitely
intimidated.

Few thoughts.
"main villain" almost certainly refers to Sephiroth. The last three lines infer an event, in that something happens to make the viewer intimidated if they weren't before. And whatever it is that happens, it's unusual or odd but creative, which could refer to whatever b/c it's subjective to the riddler. Seph's white hair might be considered to be creative by someone who hasn't watched 90% of fantasy anime.

Carl the Llama
01-09-2012, 07:21 PM
That shouldn't be like that,
but it sure is creative.

I think this comes from the fact that the weapon should be frozen in the mountain and unable to move (its eye).

Is it wrong to be jealous
of the main villain?

Possible coming from the fact that the game is all about Sephiroth, yet the weapons are supposed to be more powerful.

If I wasn't before,
Now I'm most definitely
intimidated.

This I think comes from the fact that Sephiroth summoned Meteor which can destroy the planet and the weapons are supposed to be defenders of the planet, so they are intimidated by him.

So I'm thinking its the weapon who's eye you see when you hand the black materia to Sephiroth.

FFIX Choco Boy

Shinwa Tsuki
01-09-2012, 11:37 PM
Sephiroth's form, I think it is called the Safer Sephiroth.

The wings shouldn't be there but it's creative. One would be intimidated by this form because of the combat splitting of two (or three) "teams". Not sure what one would be jealous of.

Bubba

This you will hear, the closer it gets
A reference to the bell. You would hear it jingling when it was close.
Join it for a stroll, no need to rest
It gives you an edge when you next have a brawl
Both of these lines refer to the fact that it increases your HP as you walk
To keep it close by would be your best call

Hmmm... intriguing.

The last line initially made me think of the guy in Wall Market who wants you to get him an item from the Innkeepers vending machine. Though, Wall Market is hardly a wide open space so that can't be it.

I'm gonna have a guess at Yuffie. In Wutai, you can fight her Dad (the boss) and obtain his bling (If memory serves me correct, you get 50'000 gil and the Leviathan materia for beating him.

Ok Pike, not gonna lie the entire post there made me cringe. I've had a tit load of dental work done since I was 16 but still cringing and I've experienced fillings without painkillers. Physically sent a shudder down my spine.

As for my teeth, well as stated I have had a titload of dental work done since I was 16, the reason for this dental work is that I had my jaw shattered and lost two teeth. I've now got perfect teeth well, so long as I remember to do small stuff like take out the dental fitting at night (which I often forget to do so because it feels more weird with the plate out than in) I shouldn't need much more dental work.[!]It's not Yuffie either, no![/!]

Sorry. Anyway Yuffie wasn't the answer.

One of the guesses was in the right area but I'm looking for the person.

Well... I can think of the Battle Counter Guy (or what ever his name is.....)

It's not the battle counter guy!

Mr. Coates.

The desert around Corel Prison is definitely "wide open spaces" and Coates won't let you go until you bring back Dyne's bling, a pendant.

That and some of us might use the game itself - replaying it multiple times, and some of use might use the Strategy Guide (although, I think some of us only use the Guide on riddles rarely, or to help make them).

chionos

I go by memory only. If I can't figure it out from memory then there's no point in playing the game.

FFVII has become almost second nature to me. I've beat it 21 times so It's embarrassing that I can't think of anything right now ;_;

I'll fancy a guess
Bugenhagen? Is that even close to right?

chionos, if you can't remember something - it's better to replay the game.

chionos
01-12-2012, 07:56 PM
Oh, yeah, I wasn't dissing replays, I was more referring to using strategy guides, stuff like that.

Jiro

chionos has it. Mr Coates is the right answer.

Command me not to be
Command me not to be
Command me to be me

The Magic eye pots? In the northern crater?

Nope, but I can see where you could interpret it that way.

BG-57

Eye for teeth and teeth for eye might refer to an 'eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth', or revenge, so I'll guess Master Tonberry.

Bubba

Hmmm... we may need some clues on this one Chionos.

Is it significant that the first line is repeated twice?

It's definitely a reference to "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" but the way Chionos has written it is clearly a lot more one-sided. "Some teeth for an eye" implies that there are many deaths in revenge for one death or vice versa.

The last two lines remind of those Tamagotchi pets that were all the rage a few years ago....

I've no idea but I'm gonna have a wild guess with White Materia?

chionos
01-14-2012, 09:10 PM
Nope. None of the above.
And yes, the repetition of the first lines is very very significant.

Is it the W-Item Duplication Trick?

chionos
01-18-2012, 06:37 PM
Aye that's it bubba

Command me not to be
Command me not to be -- It's a command materia that lets you use two items

Command me to be me -- the duplication trick is not exactly using the materia the way it was intended to be used

And I will be for all to see
A trade as of inequality -- You lose an item to get many many more of another item

Some teeth for an eye,
An eye for some teeth -- This reiterates that you're not trading 1 for 1

Always heal, always feed
Never want, never need -- Using this trick means you have plenty of just about every item you'll ever even think of needing, elixirs, nuts, etc.

The Wall Market exchange where you end up getting the Sexy Cologne?

Jiro

And the Tiara, don't forget that one. The first two lines refer to staying the night at the inn and checking the vending machine.

A'ight you're up.

Found at the start,
They'll surely help you out.
Found at the end,
They're worse than useless.
Used correctly, lucky you'll be,
Used incorrectly, dead as the dirt.
Never underestimated,
Never overestimated,
The game will tell you the exact answer.

What is it?

Jiro
01-29-2012, 09:42 PM
Is it materia? I... have no real idea. If you use materia wrong but overloading or whatever it makes the game harder. I guess that's about the extent of my reasoning :exdee:

Shaibana
01-29-2012, 09:50 PM
My guess goes to Limit Break.
when you get the first limit breaks your all over it. verry usefull etc.
but than comes the part where you get a lvl 2 Limit break.
Than you want to move on with the lvl 2 limit break, but at that time its only 1 move. while the lvl 1 has 3, but weaker.

i havent even finished the game so i dont know if thez are useless at the end.
but i have experienced that if you use them wrong it can screw up everything

is it a healing item
