I got to go play EVOLVE and it was super freaking awesome and I had adrenaline coursing through my veins for a couple hours. I hadn't felt that exhilarated from a game in years. This morning was awful, but I feel a bit better after going to work; the lady I was working with was really sweet, which is a relief because I don't know her too well and was a bit worried. I tinkered around with our piano at work while I was on my break, and that was fun! It's raining, but it's kinda nice. Spuuky is busy tonight so I'm just going to get some Chinese takeaways and maybe watch a movie or something.

Spending time with my girlfriend's family on Easter. My girlfriend makes me happy.

Also 420 but not smoking weed makes me happy. My brain has to much Anandamide so it's like I'm naturally high off my body's natural thc. So it's asinine to be smoking as well as having a mental illness like schizophrenia at the same time.

I'm also happy to be sober for almost 5 years now.

For the first time since I got run over I've managed to resume my normal pace of walking home from Wimbledon Train Station after work. The journey is only a little over a mile but I walked it in less than 12 minutes. I was fairly impressed though my leg is killing me now. No pain, no gain though.

Found out that I was eligible for PIP (Personal Independence Payment) and I'm the first one in my entire town that has been awarded I will get a minimum of £54.45 extra per week ^^ (and its going to be backdated to March 17th).

They say it will take up about 2 months to process the payment so by the time I get it I will have a lump sum of £762.30 by the time the claim goes through.

The maintenance man came and tested/installed my chin-up bar, so I'm able to use it again! It traditionally gets a lot of use while I'm either cooking or thinking about what words to use in a story. I'm not certain whether it will make my shoulder better or worse, so I might as least stretch it before I go to a physio.

I checked my work email, and a manager emailed me to say that they personally recommended me for a very competitive, lucrative role. I'm pretty touched, given that we've never really worked together and I certainly didn't ask them to vouch for me!

I made my first foray into gluten free vegan baking and it was great! My favourite coffee shop in town makes these amazing muffins and it hadn't occurred to me to try replicate them (gluten free baking seems expensive and intimidating to me), but I was flicking through a cookbook that is a collection of submissions by local restaurants, and the muffin recipe was included!

Veruca Salt announced a show at what is probably now my favourite Seattle venue!

I figured out a better way to take individual clips in Premiere and replace them with After Effects compositions rather than doing Dynamic Link or "Import Premiere Pro Sequence" in After Effects; which doesn't seem to save all of my effects and looks too disorganized. I'm excited with how things are turning out and will be debuting the video soon.

I was also happy that it was raining today, because it put me right to sleep. It's sometimes hard for me to fall asleep since I'm naturally a night owl, but the rain was so calming.

For algebra I'm making a comic book to earn extra credit. It's about a bad guy called Mr. X and a member of the superhero team known as The Mathletes called Polynomial Man. For Polynomial Man to beat Mr. X he has to figure out his secret identity using the quadratic equation while fighting his minions. It's pretty awesome! He has a mustache, a cape, and a factorbeam!

Feeling just generally positive today, which is a nice change because it's been a long, hard week or two. I'm starting to really feel like I have control over at least some parts of my life, and that's a really comforting feeling. I like the direction I'm heading in. I just need to have more days like this and let fear ruin me less often, but that's a huge long term goal. For now, I'm just happy that I had a good, productive day!

Nothing sadder to me than not being able to tuck my son in at night, especially when my mom tells me he was running around her house yelling "Mom? mom?" one night :'( This week, I have been able to come home and play with him, feed him dinner, give him a bath, help him brush his teeth and comb his hair, and tuck him in :) the sweetest part is when I say "I love you" and he says it back in his cute little baby way "i wuv woowoo" :D I'm so happy :heart:

Incidentally, there were a bunch of billion-year-old dinosaurs behind my party at a restaurant this evening who were arguing over global warming and shouting at one another about it.

We wrote on a napkin "GLOBAL WARMING IS A LIE!!!" and were going to give it to the loudest as we passed, but they were old and that would have been mean.

My dad texted me (and then called me immediately after he sent the text :D ) and told me that he's getting a boxer puppy!

One of the guys that works over at the truck shop went and got him one.. He didn't even go to a shelter- he went straight to a breeder and bought it for him.

I'm completely gobsmacked. I mean, I know that the guys who work over there (& their wives) love my parents and they're incredibly happy to have my dad back over there, but this is just beyond sweet.

The puppy is actually already 10 months old and supposedly housebroken. If she really is, then that's excellent!
I worry that she may be too much for my dad, and that Squirt (his 14 year old min pin) won't take to her so easily. But at the same time, Squirt has -never- been the only dog in the family before. So, my dad thinks that having this new dog will be great for him.

I hope he's right. And on the plus side, it'll give my dad more to do during the day. Having a puppy that's active will hopefully keep him off the couch more and keep his mind occupied.. And he won't get too frustrated with her like he sometimes does with Squirt.

I jokingly asked him if he'll leave her to me in his will.. He said "You plan on me dying that quick!?" lmao..

And my Parker -finally- sent me something in the mail! She wrote me a little card & sent me her Spring picture, which I'll poast later. :D

She got the treats we picked out for her from FAO Schwartz today, too & loved it! Thankfully the shirt is a little big on her, so she'll be able to wear it for awhile.hehe

One of my students came up to me after class and said that she wanted to thank me. She had always hated math with a passion until she took my class. She says that I've shown her that math is not all pain and suffering, and can in fact be fun and worthwhile. She also said her mother has noticed a complete 180 in regards to her attitude towards math and wanted to thank me as well.

It means a lot to me because I was exactly the same way throughout most of high school. All it took was one incredible teacher to change my mind. He inspired me to study mathematics, and I wouldn't be where I am right now if not for him.

At risk of sounding like a broken record, today I was super productive! Edited ~25 pages of my fiction novel, wrote ~2,000 words on my non-fiction critique, worked on an essay for uni, and sorted out some general life crap and money crap and whatnot, and had time to spare. I love getting to the end of the day and feeling like I actually did something.

Complete and utter relief.

I got my results back for the exam I sat yesterday. I thought I did really well, so I felt awful seeing an 18/30 grade on the website. That means a pass for the exam and a pass overall for the course; I've never received lower than a credit overall and the impact that would have on my GPA is awful.

After like forty-five minutes of being depressed about that, I finally looked at the grades again and realised that the tasks were listed out of order - 18/30 was the grade I received for a much lower-weighted earlier assessment task for the course. I actually got 26.5/30 for the exam, which is 88% - a high distinction. That means I received a distinction overall for the course. A much more agreeable result.

That caused such an Hermione-esque identity crisis for me, so it's a relief to know I was wrong. Although I do feel awfully stupid for getting so worked up about it when I obviously didn't read it properly. Who lists the tasks out of order? :roll2

The cleaning wasn't awesome, but the after part is. I've been making an attempt to get my cluttered life smurfing organized lately in getting rid of things, cleaning things, organizing things, and making sense of my jumbled hard drive, bookmarks, and email so that I can feel better and focus on doing more fun things instead of being nagged by the sensation that "I should be doing something more productive right now." I also think it will help allow for creativity to flow more freely as I don't have to worry about things I should be doing instead of not doing them. (I procrastinate a lot. A lot.)

Cleaning, donating unneeded possessions, and physical organization done! Next comes digital organization, and then comes fun things like hanging rainbow origami hearts from my ceiling and putting up posters and writing and brainstorming for a new etsy shop.

I woke up inexplicably happy today. I've been on a mission in North Carolina for the Air Force this week so I'm excited today was the last day and I'll fly home tomorrow to see my fiance and our puppy. I can't wait. I've been away from home a bunch these last few months so some time home before the wedding will be nice and relaxing!
