Raijin: Heya, everyone! Thanks for being here for the Ciddies celebrating the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy! It's a pretty big deal, ya know?

Fujin: AFFIRMATIVE.

Raijin: Tonight we've been chosen to present a Ciddie to the characater you believe has the best dialogue! There are lots of great characters, ya know? Let's get to it! We've even got some voice clips from them to put over the speakers, ya know?

Fujin: BALTHIER.

Raijin: The smooth talking sky pirate from Ivalice. We all know who the REAL leading man is, ya know?

Voice Clip: "Your mistakes were twofold, I'm afraid. You sprung your trap without looking to see if the game you hunted was the one you'd snare, and you sold me short. I'm no thief; I'm a sky pirate."

Fujin: BARRET.

Raijin: He has the mouth of a sailor and sometimes an outfit to match, ya know?

Fujin: !@#%*

Voice Clip: "Wuddup, fool?! It's Barret! I AM the man! Oil, Cloud! I just found the biggest, damn oil field you ever seen! Surveyin's done, so I should be able to get out there and see Marlene soon. You let her know, alright Spiky?!"

Fujin: CID.

Raijin: Cid Highwind dreams of being the first man in space! There's more than one loud mouth in Final Fantasy 7, ya know?

Voice Clip: "This's gonna be a big splash. Hold on to your drawers, an' don't piss in 'em!!"

Fujin: KEFKA.

Raijin: This is one crazy clown, ya know? I wouldn't wanna be in his posse....

Fujin: AGREED.

Voice Clip: "Life... Dreams... Hope... Where do they come from? And where do they go...? Such meaningless things... I'll destroy them all!"

Fujin: SAZH.

Raijin: The loving father and funny man of Final Fantasy 13! He's great with pistols. I wonder what it's like to have a bird in your head, ya know?

Fujin: ...

Voice Clip: "All this dampness is damp."

Fujin: TELLAH.

Raijin: He's a wise old man, but his age has made him forget some of his spells. He's passionate about the people close to him but he has a short temper! Hey, I know someone like that....

Fujin kicks Raijin in the shin.

Raijin: OUUUCHH!

Voice Clip: "You spoony bard!"

Fujin: TIDUS.

Raijin: He's a nice guy with deep feelings about his father and he desires to return to Zanarkand. I like his fiery attitude and his touching moments, ya know?

Voice Clip: "I hate you. I hated you so much. I always wished you'd be gone. But deep down, what I really wanted was just...your approval. For you to...tell me that I've grown strong. That's all I ever wanted."

Fujin: YUNA.

Raijin: She's a very sweet girl, ya know? Her best dialogue comes in times of hardship. Check out how she ends that first sentence, ya know?

Voice Clip: "You say it's your story, but it's my story, too, you know? It would be so easy...to let my fate just carry me away...following this same path my whole life through. But I know...I can't. What I do, I do... with no regrets."

Raijin: So there you have it guys! Those are your 8 finalists......Hang on a sec! Why isn't Seifer on this list, ya know!?

Fujin: RAGE.

Zidane and Garnet from Gaia IX walk together onstage to the podium for their speech on Best Voice.

Zidane: The Gods started up the requirement for great, epic adventures within the Final Fantasy Multiverse a mere 25 years ago, and during the early years, voices in Final Fantasy worlds were largely unheard of.

Garnet: Exactly, and voices in Final Fantasy had not started until the tenth legend - in 2001!

Zidane: Since then, voices have been a feature in later Final Fantasy tales. We're here to present the award for Best Voice award!.

Garnet: You're right. Isn't it horrible that the game we're both in didn't feature voices, Zidane?

Zidane: I know! I bet your voice would be totally babe-alicious, Dagger!

Garnet: *blushes* You would have a cute voice yourself, Zidane.

Zidane: No way, mine would be bad ass and awesome.

Garnet: But not as masculine as our first nominee from Final Fantasy X, Auron.

Zidane: Puh-lease, Dagger! His voice is nothing compared to the smooth voice of Ivalice's sky pirate, Balthier. If I had a voice, mine would sound just like his! Except much more sexier. *nudges Garnet*

Garnet: Zidane, please. Anyway, our next nominee is from Gran Pulse - Caius Ballad. He has a very nice voice from what I've heard.

Zidane: But not nicer than our next nominee Lightning, who has one of the sexiest voices in the FF Multiverse. I could listen to her all day.

Garnet: What about mine?

Zidane: Dagger, you don't have a voice!

Garnet: I lost my voice at one point, yes, but I do have a voice.

Zidane: In my head, you have the best voice, my dear.

Garnet: Moving along, our next nominee is Sazh Katzroy.

Zidane: Now there's a voice that's smooth and easy on the ears. I gotta love me a strong, soulful voice. He and our following nominee are from the same world. Next up is Snow Villiers. I've got one word to say about him.

Garnet: Please do share with us, Zidane.[/B]

Zidane: Why certainly, Dagger. *clears throat* STEELGUARD!

Garnet: *facepalms* And finally, our last nominee is Wakka from Spira.

Zidane: What a great cast of nominees for Best Voice! I can't wait to find out who wins!

Ashe: I apologise, denizens of Final Fantasy for my tardiness here tonight, but I had important business to attend to with Al-Cid Margrace regarding the creature rights abuses act. Apparently, Slavens are now a protected species, so Vaan, no more tanned hides for you I’m afraid!

Slight ripple of laughter from audience.

Ashe: As for the whereabouts of my partner, Penelo, I cannot say. I am sure you will all feel sympathetic for dear Penelo, she has gotten into the wrong crowd and the Judge Magisters believe that she is now part of a dangerous organisation known as the Mafia. While these are dark days for Ivalice, let us not dwell on this and instead focus on the awards this evening. I myself have been around several very attractive men, Balthier being just one of them. However, what defines cuteness? Hope Estheim, ladies and gentlemen, perhaps is the epitome of cuteness! Having already modelled for Prada and having that cute, feminine charm, Hope could very well be a winner - and what of Tidus? I hear that Judge Drace has a particular fondness for Tidus and his lovely Spira tan while Laguna Loire is a sexy hunk with a cute side.

Ashe: Oh, Rikku! Stop it, you little animal! We also have Vivi, whose self-doubt and yearning for friendship definitely makes him a contender, while some of the furries in the audience feel Zidane’s tail is the closest they're going to get to living out their cute, kinky fantasies. But that is enough speeches from me. Having already met with Al-Cid I feel like my tongue has already been rammed down my throat, I should probably drink a potion to make my throat better. Anyway, the golden envelope is...

Ashe: This cannot be happening. This is more embarrassing than believing Ondore’s lies!

Penelo: Aha! My nefarious deeds have succeeded once again! First escaping lynch in Dalmasca, now this! "Oh boy," everyone says to Penelo, "you're too boring to be a main character.” Well, ha ha ha! I get the last laugh! Everyone is expecting to know the winner of Cutest Male, no? But they'll only know if you, Ashe, give me half the worth of your kingdom!

Ashe: But what do you have against me!?

Penelo: Simply that you're above me in the party select screen. I have an immense hatred of being last and being at the bottom really sucks. Now hand it over!

Ashe: Well... *sigh* I guess I have no choice... here....

Ashe happens to be carrying 12,100,400 gil, and hands it over!

Penelo: Now thank you for that. Gee. This is heavy... don’t know how Vaan carries all that loot plus equipment plus gil around... sheesh...

Flan is a delicacy that is usually served for dessert. I really appreciate dessert since getting through a big dinner can really leave me hungry. This one was pretty good but a little too sweet. Maybe served on top of a deep fried frog would make it better.

I have eaten a lot of beans. More than there are feathers on a chocobo. These beans are green like frogs which I appreciate. They are good as a snack on the go but if I was served these as a meal I would be offended and would probably end up eating the wait staff.

This may not look very good but it has everything I would need. It is savory and hearty and the best thing is that you can eat it with your hands. I find this most effective since it cuts out the middle man. Plus my fork is usually used for fighting monsters trying to steal my food.

This savory crepe blends flavors from multiple regions. This is something I appreciate because I am currently in mixed-heritage relationship. :) I thought this would taste more like a taco than it did. I liked it but in the end it only made me want a taco.

Like every intelligent thing that ever lived, I love cheese. Ricotta goes best when filling a pasta or bread and I have not really had it plain. After several hand fulls I can say that I am hooked. My next adventure is to try a ricotta filled frog. It would probably be my dream come true.

I stopped eating leaves after that time I ate poison oak. Plus there is no sport in trying to catch a tree for your dinner. I did try these for this event but I did not like them. Maybe it would have been better in a salad with some bacon, cheese, frog legs, and a whole lot of creamy dressing.

This item is considered a dip and goes best when you have something to dip in it. I will give you one guess what I used to dip. That's right, frogs! I can not believe you all know me so well. It is like you are all my best friends. Any way, this was delicious and I went through 15 frogs before I got to the bottom of the bowl.

I will have to say that this is an odd combination even for me and I was surprised to find it on the list. After trying 5 or 6 helpings (had to be sure) I can say that it is pretty good. I guess lobster is like frogs since anything goes well with it.

I sense much sadness from this one :whimper:. However, holy crap the scene in the Blitzball arena from Final Fantasy X? All those monsters just *poof* gone! Balthier & Fran

Balthier: Welcome audience, and Balthier and Fran here will be presenting the Best NPC award. Now, the public who I meet are either attempting to lynch me and steal the cache of Galabados, which happens as often as Fran collapses through mist exhaustion...

Fran gives cold stare to Balthier.

Balthier: or they are worshipping me down at my feet. It is hardly surprising, the leading man often attracts all sections of the audience. But this award isn’t about me, unfortunately. It is about the props that make up the play.

Fran: What Balthier is trying to say is that the NPCs that make up each game are special and are crucial to us all. And I am not just saying that because I am effectively an NPC for virtually all of the game...

Balthier: Whatever you say Fran. Anyway, let us begin by discussing what is perhaps the most consistent of all of the NPCs we have here tonight. Gilgamesh has appeared since FFV and has been Bartz’s favourite ever since. Why is this? Let me cast you back to my own encounter with Gilgamesh. He appears on the bridge with the grace of Basch’s running stride and the rest of the battle creates a most humorous atmosphere. Couple that with his little sidekick here and you have the making of a NPC legend. Everyone needs a sidekick, right Fran?

Fran gives cold stare to Balthier.

Fran: Ultros is another candidate worth consideration. While I cannot fathom why anyone would want to cast a vote for this misogynist, Ultros does match Gilgamesh’s ability for haphazard cut scenes. The mist is perpetually pink around him. A clear sign of madness. Thankfully, Bugenhagen is a worthy candidate. His knowledge of Gaia rivals my ability to seemingly know everything about Ivalice. Bugenhagen resides in Cosmo Canyon, a mystical place that is secretive, much like the Eryut Villa--

Balthier is caught seducing Rinoa Heartilly in audience seating area.

Fran: Tsk! Balthier!

Balthier: Oh, Fran, you know the leading man is nothing without a leading lady right? Of course, you wouldn’t qualify. I need a strong heroine to better suit my sky pirating needs...

Fran, seething, storms off.

Balthier: As they say, if you can’t take the heat, get off the stage. Am I saying this right? Anyway, where was I? Ah, yes - Mukki is a weird fellow. I first met him in the Honeybee Inn; for business, I assure you. He is a great candidate because of the fine masculine looks he gives to the game, as I do to my own...

Wolf whistles from female audiences and ...Hope Estheim?

Balthier: Thank you, ladies. Moving on, the moogle is one NPC that is friendly in a non-sexual sense. While I admire my friend Mukki and the many adventures we experienced together, the moogle has always been the epitome of cute and for this very reason I hired Nono as my mechanic. While it is said Fran can handle a spanner, Nono has the smooth touch that only moogles know how. They have appeared in various forms throughout the series, and I look forward to them each time. They are the foil to my leading man, as they say.

Balthier squints hard

Balthier: Wait.. am I reading this right? Stay Away From the Summoner Lady? Why isn’t You're a Bad Man Girl on this list also? I expected better from you, Spira. Moving on to our last candidate, Cid Fabool IX is a strange case. He begins human, then a oglop, then a frog. I realise that Terra is multicultural, this world has more races than Ivalice, and we have an entire game based around those races. Again, I am astounded. This dashing sky pirate is at a loss to explain why he has been chosen to host this award... anyway...

In a hidden place in the ceiling, Irvine prepares a bullet...

Irvine, whispering: If I kill him, I shall obtain the cache of Galabados and the strahl all for myself...

Balthier: And so the winner of this blasted award goes t-

Fran: Watch out Balthier!

Fran rushes in, pushing Balthier aside and dodging the bullet. Irvine scurries back to his designated seat as quickly as possible, failing in his mission (again).

Balthier: Fran, my dear... you saved my life... I should never have doubted you as being some low-rate playable character. I am a changed leading man.

Fran: The mist grows hot. Let us finish, quickly, the audience is getting rowdy with the frequent interruptions...

Balthier & Fran: The award for Best NPC goes to....
