Yars is a cool dude.
Demondude55 - Semendude! I remember when he first joined. I wasn't sure if he'd make to regular; I thought he'd get banned. But nope, he's stuck around, and we're glad for it. Though most well known for that poem down in the Writing Netherregion, he's also up in the General Chat forum. He's a friendly dude and brings a lot of enthusiasm to the forum, which is something we all need in these ages of jaded too cool for school.
Guardian XIII – I'm afraid I don't know Guardian XIII as well as I'd like to; I'm planning on fixing that! However, I know many people have taken notice of him in the forums. The other day I talked to a friend of mine about new regulars, and he came up in a conversation. We were talking about how nice he is and how he has a really good attitude and that we both admire and that we think that this Ciddies, that attitude will be rewarded. I hope it is!
Shattered Dreamer – Similar to Guardian XIII, I don't know Shattered Dreamer as well as I should! And also similarly, Shattered Dreamer came up in conversation with my friend, and we discussed how he's a really awesome dude (aren't there so many cool Irish members?) and that we're glad he stuck around, and that we hope these Ciddies reward him well. I personally hope that Shattered Dreamer gets more confident in how much of an asset he is to these forums. Like demondude, his enthusiasm does a lot to negate all of the jaded feelings that a lot of older members hold!
Nikki – Wow, the only female of this category! I remember when she first joined after Will, how everyone really took to her spirit. That underwear thread was so funny! You can tell that the forum was glad that her intertubes were fixed those few months ago, so that she could post so more. A fellow small font aficionado, she reminds me of a lot of older members when they were younger, sweet and jolly! Stay this way forever, Nikki. Keep on being active in the Event Committee, and keep posting pix. :aimkiss:
Laddy – Oh Laddy! You can tell what a presence Laddy is when I had to think for a minute to figure out if he was a regular or a veteran. I've rarely encountered such an interesting character on the forums. This corgi-crazed hippie man has brought a lot of activity in the forums for quite a while, hosting lots of events and small games, so of course he is a deserving candidate for Best Regular. As confusing as his antics may be sometimes, we would never want him anywhere but here. Stay gold, Laddy-boy.

Okay, so maybe they aren't the veterans of wars long past, but it's not the war time we value, it's the experience. Veterans are those of the community that have long since passed into antiquity, capable of saying "I remember back in the day," before the phrase was used to advertise cowardice. Hell, they can say it without having been given a title of honor (or slavery, in some cases). Unlike newbies, I have come to know a few of these people slightly better than I would have otherwise. It couldn't hurt to share some of my experiences, could it?
Breine
Sexy man, smart poster, allegedly. From what I can remember, I haven't spoken much to him at all. Comparatively, he's quiet, though well thought of.

For some reason my mind flashes "newbie" despite the join date. Maybe he's one of those weird dudes that joined at the time, but did not become active until much later (as though I couldn't relate).
Freya
I bet you all didn't know this little tidbit: a long time ago, we used to be friends. I have found that I haven't changed much, though as the years went by, I learned that the more things must change, the more things stay the same. Freya is a prime example of that, someone who somehow seemed to only find my flaws instead of simply willing to play along.

I knew this man back in the day, when he used to call himself LunarWeaver. He and I are brothers in the polygonal blood, the shared bond of pixels in animated combat. He is a member of the Diablo II Brotherhood; no faulty name could I cast on this man. He is truly a man, enough to love other men. If this world had no Diff EQ Girls, Redskins Fans, Steelers Fans, or any number of freshman girls, innocent and naive, I dare say, he would have a fine ass.
But that's only my own personal experience of these people. Perhaps their influence is felt not to me, but to those who have bothered to nominate and vote. EoFF, who is the best veteran? Who fires the best depleted uranium shells?

Why am I here? Why should I even bother? I am a member of the ranks that we call "Site Staff." I am a wretched pile of scum, lazy and abhorrent, cruel and calculating. Unusual, vile, weird, or so they would say. And these would not be untrue, but the truth is in the eye of the beholder. Not many can know what goes on behind our closed doors, but suffice it to say, it would be enough to burn testicles off. It would certainly be more than enough to cause bruising to ovaries.
But for once, now is the time that the general public comes to appreciate the perceived accomplishments of those who contribute to that which is truly the heart of the system: the Frontsite. If it did not bring in visitors, there would be no need for a forum. Nothing here would be here; it would be like an Ozymandias in a desolate, barren, and dry place.
But to review what the Site Staff have done for you recently, we may review, and the accounts can be counted on no less than two hands. That is, if people cared. I bet that you all couldn't even name six of us off the tops of your head, but you can name CKs and Administrators? Fallacy. It would appear, that even in the world of the internet, the cogs that run the system are all too well forgotten.
Of those who are orange, we exist, ten. Of those who are green there are three. It should also be noted that three of them share titles, and thus fit into those categories, primarily.
Though, I suppose the general populace can vote for us, it's not like you all know who really deserves it based on your limited information. Although, I would rather it not be that way, that's how it works. Sucks. But hey, who says you can't have your shot at universal redemption?

Since joining Team Site Staff in 2008, Tavrobel has been updating the front site with valuable, current news on Final Fantasy. He has also helped fellow Site Staffer, Momiji with coding what goes on the site. In addition to that, he has a great deal of contribution to the actual content that gets posted – whether it be revising or adding content for Final Fantasy game sections, or producing news feeds with amusing pictures and updates. It is no wonder why he can be considered such a valuable asset to have on staff. If it weren’t for him, most of us site staffers would not get as much accomplished as we do. He makes most of us want to push ourselves because he takes what he does seriously. He wants to make Eyes on Final Fantasy the best it could by starting with the front site. I'll make no secret of the fact that I was thrilled when Rantzien was knighted, and that I voted for him for this Highwind Award and for Best Member. And it was a very easy choice, because over the past 6 months, nobody has come close. Firstly, I want to talk about him as a person. I honestly think there is nobody nicer on this forum. He has never said a bad word about anybody. And he'll happily be your friend, no matter who you are.
His willingness to help is unparalleled. We needed FFXII avatars, so he helped me and we cranked out a whole bunch of them together. Site Staff needed some images of FFXIII characters and Rantzien provided them. And go check out the Signature Service thread if it's not something you visit often. Time and time again Rantzien helps EoFFers in that thread. Heck, guess who is responsible for my sig after a request in the Signature Service thread? :shobon:
One of my favourite things about Rantzien is that he will always greet new members in their newbie thread. I know a few people do this, but as far as forums staff go, this is actually very rare and I don't think that's a good thing. Rantzien always being there to welcome them inspires me to do the same and I hope it will inspire fellow staffers if they read my speech!
Finally, a word about Rantzien as a moderator, as you can't very well give out an award like this without it! There isn't really much work of that nature to be done these days, apart from banning spambots. In the Supar Sekrit Staff Foram we have a huge long thread listing spambots that have been banned, and it is a sea of pink because of the amount of times he posts in it. He is one dedicated dude.
To round this off, congratulations, Rantzien. You are the best we have and you are one of the coolest dudes I know. :)
