Thread: Stop calling me Harle.

    Stop calling me Harle.

I mean, for Christ's sake! It says Quin in the bloody avatar, you bunch of twazzocks!

Have you ever been named incorrectly? Like spelling it wrong, or saying it wrong or summat.

People frequently spell my name and surname incorrectly, and also say the latter wrong too. It annoys me. Both are spelled fairly obviously, unless you're saying it wrong. In which case, shut up and leave me alone you dumbass.

Yep. My IRL name is uncommon where I live so it gets pronounced and spelled incorrectly, every day.

and ...someone added a jim to my name once.

I don't think there is any other way of saying 'Amy' then the obvious, perhaps "Ah-me". Once a relative wrote 'To Aimee' on a card, pfft!

What are you talking about Harle?

People are always pronouncing my first name wrong. McLovin' always does that. >=(

It hasn't happened with my real-life name, which is pretty easy to pronounce. But, everybody seems to think that Breine is pronounced like [Brain], when in actuality it is more like [Brei-neh]. But, whatever.. it's a common misunderstanding, but I'm pretty fine with it. Mostly because of the phrase "Breine the Dane", which rhymes

.. and because of the nifty rhyming my user name is now officially pronounced like "Brain"!

one time in class we were talking about people who mispronounced last names, and like four of us were like 'omg that happens all the time' then I realized we all had five-letter last names, so obviously that was the reason.

You'd think that by-rum would be all too obvious, but I have to spell it often and correct pronounciation also.

Can I call you Quin the Eskimo?

My first name is pronounced incorrectly all the time. If I care enough I'll correct, but most of the time I don't even bother, especially if it's with people I'll never see again.

It's rare that my name is mispronounced, although there are occasional difficulties in spelling.

陳 is romanized as Chan instead of Chén or Chun or however your local azn dialect pronounces it.

    I don't care, personally.

    ...is your name Sunny?

My last name (aka surname) is Tryson. I've gotten Tyson (so many times), Tryon, and TrysAHN. It's a schwa sound in the second syllable, it doesn't rhyme with gone, and there's an r and an s in it. Not too hard to pronounce, yet people mess it up more often than they should.

I don't like it when people call me Dee-Dee.

A supply teacher once read out my name as "Shaun". I was embarrassed, although I doubt the teacher was more confused than I was embarrassed. Imagine a girl answering to "Shaun"! Crazy.

My first and last name are easy...and both only four letters, actually. Kyle and Rudd are pretty darn simple. I lucked out it seems! As for online, I doubt anybody says Lunar other than how it is said.

But I sympathize with you Quin, and if you want to march around holding a sign in the name of anger I will help you .
