As for Garnet (SPOILER)she's not her biological mother - her real mother is called Jane and is seen escaping from Madain Sari on the boat at the beginning of the game

I always pronounced it "BrAHne" but that doesn't mean much as I also thought it was TIEdus not TEEdus, CHOCobo not CHOcobo, AYEris instead of AIRris, Celes as is "Sells" not "Celeste" etc.
