A good Scotch egg is smurfing massive, though. About the size of a big man's fist, but it hurts twice as much to take it to the face.

scotch eggs are amazing but like 99% of sausage rolls seem to be awful. its so hard to get a good sausage roll these days!

It's gotta be noted that like 99% of store-bought sausage rolls are like an awful grey dry meat tube wrapped in tasteless pastry. The meat has visible chunks of gristle and other matter in it. THe only way to make them somewhat palatable is to heat it up in a microwave but that means the whole thing kinda sweats and you get this moist floppy thing that you can't pick up bare-handed because you get a weird odour on your fingers that takes 4 to 5 hand washings to go away.
It could be a great food but 99% of the time it's just an excuse for some kind of meat company to get rid of the nasty meat troute they have left over from making real food
Mmm... I could really go for a grey, dry, meat tube wrapped in tasteless, sweaty pastry right now.

Now that sounds smurfing spectacular. Our sack of tasteless meat cannot compete.
