I saw a kid playing football the other day. Scuffed the ball and fell over in his effort to kick so hard. I couldn't help but wonder why he wasn't on the England squad, but then I remembered he's Chinese, so...
...so he'll be playing for the England cricket team in 10 years time!

I'd say probably the coolest WC experience I've had was watching Germany and I can't remember who playing for the finals while I was in Paris in 2002 I think. Huge screen in a plaza packed with several thousand people all watching the game. It was awesome.
My team in work rolled Belgium. Time to switch my vote!

Italy is my team so I'm always going to cheer for them, but I would not be upset if Germany wins...they are my close #2. However, I will be upset if Spain wins it all =/

hey never mind Australia and England qualified - they're practically the same thing, right?
Saying England is practically Scotland, and Australia is practically New Zealand is pushing it, but I suppose little things like that go a long way towards boosting the larger countries' self esteem.

And indeed, can the Scottish have a self-esteem when they haven't qualified for a World Cup for 16 years and indeed are probably only better than Northern Ireland of the teams of the British Isles?
New Zealand are cool though, fair play.
We are well aware that our team sucks.
We just take pride in our Scottish Premier League! If we can't compete with others, might as well compete with ourselves.
