Did you ever... name the main characters after yourself and a crush?

Well not so much crush as boyfriend. Sometimes I just name myself after my favourite character though, and my boyfriend after my second favourite character, which in IX ends up being Vivi and Quina, so that works out in the end

Nope. Last time I renamed any of my FF characters, Matt was Yuffie and I was Tifa. Everyone else was a random roll of our friends.

I did it w/ FFIV, back when it was II.

A lot of times I just give the main character my name in romanji.

Some games, like FFVI, I name the characters after Marvel Super Heroes.

FFI I used to use my cousin's names.

Not usually in Final Fantasy. I used to in X-Com but seeing everyone get brutally slaughtered by aliens kind of put a dampener on that

I've never used my name for my characters, at least not that I can recall, but I have used my handle and a crush's name waayyy back when FF7 came out. I generally leave character names defaulted, though, or pick a theme and assign names based on that.

I used to use my own name for the main character for no good reason, though I never involved crushes as far as I can remember.

Sort of. Except I was 11/12ish when I first played FFVII and I thought Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Tifa), Britney Spears (Aeris) and Anna Kournikova (Yuffie) were hot xD I say that, it was more me and my friends trying to be badass ladies' men by listing celebrities and pretending we wanted them but we were still all too young. FFVII was something me and my friends all played and I was trying to be a badass to them.

Incidentally Cloud was Paul, Barret was my brother, Cait Sith and Red XIII were named after our hamster and guinea pig respectively and Cid and Vincent got named after two of my best friends.
