How much do you trust people on Forums?

Seriousness aside, I don't trust people in general. And I mean at all.

I trust people on the internet once I get to know them better. I've met people from the internet before and they've been exactly who they say they are. Ofcourse, I haven't met anybody from the internet who I haven't seen a photo of/talked to on the phone. I'd like some comfort about who I'm going to be meeting!

I just randomly remember this whole scandal at another forum I went to 6 years ago. I can't even remember the name of it. (I remember the running joke was the RPP or "Room of Painful Pleasures" where noobs were sent... and I swear Kishi was there... or maybe I just want him to be)

Anyways there were these two admins that ran it, two completely different people. One of the admins had this whole thing with a girl who frequented to board, she really liked him... and in the end the two guys were the same guy who was actually nothing like either really and was just really weird and everyone was really mad because he led a lot of people on, lied left right and center...

In response to your post Leeza, I dont think you are in a position to be questioning me whatsoever. I am hardly going to make a claim against Devil Man unless I know what I am talking about. It is partly due to this kind of staff arrogance that she has found it necessary to 'punish' EoFF, it's members and it's staff in the way she has. If I say she is a girl, she is a girl. Let me take a wild guess at what the IP for her Devil Man account was. Could it be, by any chance, 213.48.224.2 through blueyonder and she has claimed she is from London? Yes? Well, it goes without saying that the IP is fake and she isn't in London. She is extremely skilled at disguising her true IP to make it appear as if she was from elsewhere. Why, I believe, she even told Levian this information and he made a Thread about it in the Staff Forum, correct? And this information is an open secret because she is happily announcing it on other Forums which has members that have a grudge against EoFF. I know what I am talking about Leeza.

In response to Loony BoB, I think you know my answer is no, for several reasons. The principle one being that Devil Man's friends are also friends of mine and seeing as EoFF is being constantly watched right now, I would hardly wish to make them opposed to me. I can, however, offer you some advice. The main one being that an apology would go a long way to making Devil Man happier. She has felt victimised for a long time by the way she was treated in the past, and even now, and a personal apology from several members of staff would make her a lot happier. From what she has said in her other Threads, you guys have her e-mail address from her Devil Man account so perhaps you might want to ask her any questions there?

And here is some other info that she presumably wanted relayed to you. The first is that there are between 10,000-15,000 links to porn sites or images that she's edited over the last 2 years. In some posts and usernotes there are roughly 200 links. She obviously had far too much time on her hands. And she announces the edited Posts to her friends who then come to EoFF, using it as a gateway.

The second is that you can stop doing SQL queries to find the links. She never, ever added the http:// part of the address. That would make the links too easy to find. If you are wondering what exactly her motivations for this are, then she has stated them in another Forum and I can attempt to re-address the issue myself here. I'll make a Thread, 'Internet: Serious Business'. I am actually very fascinated by what makes a girl so vindictive as to take this action.

I'm not sure if the IP is Devil Man's, (I'm not going to check, because that is beside the point) but that is definitely a Telewest IP. Unless Devil Man hacked RIPE (which is basically impossible), there's really no way it can be otherwise. Now, this doesn't rule out using the IP as a proxy, but the IP itself is not fake. The ASN is AS5462, and that is Telewest. End of story.

The second is that you can stop doing SQL queries to find the links. She never, ever added the http:// part of the address. That would make the links too easy to find.

They cannot be links without http, can they? No worries, regular expressions work wonders for finding complex text strings.

Samuraid, I was stating that Devil Man's true IP is hidden all the time and can't be traced. It's always diverted to another IP to make her look like she is elsewhere. Hence the reason it is very difficult to find her accounts.
