So make Christmas what you want to then, as long as it's a happy time with my family/loved ones I don't really care about that other stuff *shrug* I don't like the busy shops so I avoid them, I don't think people should buy just at Christmas, so I don't, it's not about religion to me so I don't think about that stuff. You can really enjoy it how you want, imo, but why not enjoy it?

This is a tradition that has been around since the beginning of Christmas. Think about the first Christmas ever, the birth of Jesus Christ. On that night, the three wise men gave Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. That is why presents are given.

I merely find Christmas moderately annoying. I do enjoy spending time with my extended family...once in a while. Four times a year would be ideal if my relatives were also Taoist. I'd just rather do it in the spring or summer when the weather isn't crap. It's more fun when it's a well-earned vacation.

    Christmas does stress me out.

In the end, it's nice to see the happy looks on people's faces when they open their presents. And that makes me go "aww". But Christmas time really is stressful. But I find shopping in general to be stressful and to add on top of that the intensely crowded and frenzied atmosphere of the mall and other shopping centers around Christmas time? Ugh. I hate that. It's disgusting and it makes me want to start kicking people.

I do enjoy wrapping gifts though. That's fun.

I wrapped my little cousin's presents in 20 layers of wrapping.

I'm very fond of Christmas as it is now, although I do wish it were a bit more like Saturnalia.

The only thing better than rampant commercialism is rampant commercialism with sex.

I dislike the hordes of dozy uncoordinated people bumbling around town, scurrying for Christmas goods. I hate the traditional mass murder of Turkeys, an the way people think it's perfectly acceptable. That also applies to similar evilness like putting Goose fat on potatoes. I don't like miserable sods who complain about other people having lots of decorations on their house. I hate people telling me Christmas is for children. No wonder most kids are little brats when that's the sort of drivel their parents come out with. Christmas is for children.....Don't make me sick. Oh, an little tarts in cheap Santa style outfits. Like we need them to advertise that their still a slut at Christmas time.

We have a tradition at our house where we beat and drag a turkey through the mud before we strangle it with our bare hands and eat it raw.

I think you're missing the point. The founding fathers would not have wanted Christmas as a national holiday. By making it one, we are dishonoring their vision of America.

And I dislike the violation of the separation of church and state, along with idiots who scream about the "War on Christmas" whenever someone says 'happy holidays". :rolleyes2

A dead Turkey can still give you bird flu.

No, it won't get bird flu. I have the turkey's best interest at heart here.
