..That's because a fan generally wouldn't? Depends on what bit of game they prefer the most.
No lol. You just keep assuming that X fans are always going to think like you. Not going to happen biatch. n_n

I enjoyed this game thoroughly. The combat is wonderful as long as you experiment. The Espers are really impressive looking and made me happy. I love the cast (I honestly don't hate anyone, hasn't happened for me since FFVI) I like the storyline, it's not the best this team has done but compared to the Final Fantasy series as a whole, I feel it's one of the better stories. It's theme is one that is very personal for me so I really got into it. Also, VAAN IS NOT THE MAIN CHARACTER! The game does not have an official lead like FFVII, FFVIII, and FFX. So don't play the game expecting Vaan to take charge. You'll like him better as a character when you try not pigeon-hole him into the "main hero" status.
Honestly though, play this game for it's world. Ivalice is huge and ridiculously detailed. EXPLORE!!! The world is incredible and brings back the old school charm of actually exploring it rather than being forced to go to the next story area. Hell, you get lost just trying to get to the next story part. The game has tons of side quests and a good portion of the world is optional. So explore and put the most into it.![]()
True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
Pay attention to it. Same thing I said with Vayne. There's a lot you can find out, even with simple cutscenes before you play it.
FFXII sentiments, huh?
I love political struggle (see: FFT), but I think the overal storytelling perspective is what puts me off. Rather than a character-oriented view like past games, FFXII adopts a world-perspective which focuses more on the story than the characters (and to what great effect, I can't say). That only furthers the idea of watching a movie/cinematics instead of using the characters as a 'vessel' to live through. Heck, I could care less if Ashe won the throne or a huge wild saurian bit her head off -- the story, while having enough steam to continue without being overtly boring, ends up being a shallow water that runs...shallow. That's how I feel anyway; there ain't enough to show the characters' in a frame I care about. I admire the game's great historical-type script, but half of it's nonsense if it isn't focusing intently on the characters themselves.
It took me 200+ hours to realize I don't like the game, but I guess one could rack that up to its "charm."
I think the games story is heavily based on events rather than characters. This is quite the change from most Final Fantasies and I think that is why most people are dissapointed with the games story. Personally I think the story is kind of hard to follow... granted there is alot more maturity there is alot more you have to do in between cut scenes and when you don't get to play it much its hard to remember what was going on. Also I suppose this is kind of a spoiler so beware SPOILER ALERT
I think the lack of a love story kind of makes the newer FF fans not like it as much.
"I Garland shall knock you all down!"
i for one that the game was one of the best in the entire series (except three) thats different though and the X story isnt immature its in the middle
Sometimes there are more important things in a story rather then a definitive love plot.
Tbh..the only games I saw that in where IV and VIII. X too.
Character development is not rubbish, and if people argue about lack of character interaction, I can give my thoughts on what I know so far.
The character interaction is very suttle. Less talking more body language. Watch the cutscenes carefully and try to look into the background as well. It's beautifully done.![]()

this game is hard to understand and with some scenes i watched them a few times but i think with X it was too easy to understand their was the horrible monster called sin who killed everyone so you had to kill him ha ha
