I would have come if you had scheduled this last September when I was in Toronto for a few days, but alas.

If there's a meetup in Vancouver or Victoria I'll try to come.

Ok, so depending on how many people were going i've picked out one or two hotels that we can decide upon. I'm thinking maybe two or more per room. A room for a night is about 100 bucks, but since the room will be shared it can be dispersed among the users. Here are the hotels i found, that also are close to attractions :

    3. http://hotels.ca/index.jsp

If there are any that you know of that you'd like to submit, please do and then we will decide as a group which we'd prefer to stay in. Please keep in mind that the minimum check-in ages might be older than some of us going :\
For our sakes, try to find hotels with 18 as the minimum check in age. Thank-you

Oh and there's hostel's in Toronto
Check out Backpacker's International, it's cheaper than a hotel.
More people in a room - you can probably get a group discount in 6 - 12 bedroom for about 15$ a night. There's probably a community kitchen and community segregated shower place.

I'll go down and get more information but the Hostel here is in a good location downtown on Spadina and King I believe.

As for hotels downtown I would (REALLY REALLY) suggest the Sheraton.
But the Holiday Inn (On King, not Bathurst) and the Hilton are also both right down town.
I think those three would be my suggestions - great locations.

The Sheraton is right across from Nathan Phillips Square and a nice park.

Food is everywhere, the Eaton's center is about 20 minutes (max) walking East of any of those hotels mentioned. The TTC is close to all them, you'd just take an East Bound Streetcar to the Subway stops along the University Line.

Also just west of all those locations is basically the Club District - all of it is close to China Town on Spadina, Kensington Market... and then there's Queen Street wich is good for pubs and trendy clubs (if you prefer trance, neo-goth, indie etc.)

    Man... I love Toronto.

    Boldly go.

Well i think it'll be hell fun if something does occur. The only thing is the whole province thing..there's a lot....:\

i'm in B.C personally. but i'm saving up for a trip to toronto (w00t, anime north FTW)...so i guess i could save up for two trips in one?
Well, I live about 5-6 hours drive from Toronto. We should gather a bunch of Canadians to see where a good place would be, and yeah, because we're all scattered and such we'd need hotel rooms and such.
Not Canadian, but I'll be there in the summer to visit some relatives.

    <a href="http://www.hiok.com/">Holiday Inn</a>

    <A href="http://www.hostels.com/en/availability.php/HostelNumber.851">Global Village Backpackers</a>
** Price wise this sounds the best:
    It costs about 22$ (USD) /night /person for a 6 person bedroom all male/ all female/ mixed
    So that's 66$ for accomodations
Youprobably get a group discount too if you can find 10+ people to share it all with.

This hostel also gets great ratings, I've seen it. Nice safe location, clean, secure... best hostel in DT Toronto).

<a href="http://www.hostels.com/en/availability.php/HostelNumber.1834"> College Hostel </a> (I forgot about this one... ctually it's really sketchy and skeazy but it's there as an option I guess)

I'm going to go ahead and reccomend the Hostel - I've been to hostels in New York and they're a great way to stay in a city cheap. Otherwise you're looking at like 200$ a night (if!). I think if people are really interested in coming down for August that a master list should be made - what could happen is that we can make a list say - then people can send me money over paypal or something and then I can make the reservations for you easily with my credit card and I'll keep all the information at my apt.

I'll give off my contact information - cell/phone etc.

I guess this kinda makes more sense to me because I've dealt with group bookings at hostels before and I know the city better than anyone else here.
