Quin is spot on that Charmander is the only acceptable starter Pokémon. I mean, honestly. Bulbasaur? Who the hell picks Bulbasaur?

Always pick the Pokémon that uses Scratch. It will always grow up to be better.

Except in the newer games. Turtwig (fictional Pokémon - doesn't exist. Ignore my madman ramblings) is the best started Pokémon there.
