So this weekend I'm planning on picking up one of the DS Final Fantasy games (or Theatrhythm).
Any recommendations on which one I should go for?

If you haven't played them, I recommend playing the remakes of FFIII and IV.

Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
FF IV is wonderful on the DS.
Though if you want an SRPG, you can do much better then TA 2. Go for one of the Devil Survivors. ;P
FF4 is probably my favorite DS game. However if you have already played FF4 but not FF3 then I would go for FF3 instead.

It's hard to go wrong with Theatrhythm, especially if you love the series's music (which you probably do).
And while I haven't played it myself, is 4 Heroes of Light any good? Most of the reviews I've found seem to average out as "good but not great".
My picks in order:
-Tactics A2: Because it's tactics
-Theatrhythm: It's a lot of fun and you can never say no to FF music, but it'll be the most expensive of them all being new.
-FFIII: If you can get by the 3D graphic, go for it!

Yeah it's got some stellar games on it for sure. I just never got around to picking up any of the FF's on it and now I'm thinking to myself "why not?"
If you don't have it already, get Dragon Quest IX while you're at it. Brilliant game. The DS is pretty great for handheld RPGs.
I echo FFIII, FFIV, FFTA2 and Theatrhythm.

So I got Theatrhythm in the end as it was the only one the shop had.
