Well she hates him because Jon is only a few months younger than Robb I believe. So she resents him. When Ned left for the war when she was pregnant, he came back with another woman's child. Ned was never in the slightest unfaithful again so she sees Jon as the one bad thing. Plus everyone treats him well and she doesn't like that she's supposed to be nice to the son of some other woman and treat him as one of her own. So she's a super jerk to him.
She's way worse in the book.
^ yeah. It wasn't so much the fact that Ned had a bastard but that Jon was paraded throughout Winterfell as his son and afforded the same training, education, and fatherly attention as her own children. Infidelity is one thing but to be reminded of it on a daily basis for all of your people to see is something that humiliated and ate at her. Catelyn is a central character in the books and Michelle Fairly did a great job; one of the major gripes of readers (including myself) is that she never got a chance to shine while the showrunners opted to tell their own (IMO less compelling) character arcs instead.
The show has about as many hints as the books at this point, but there is a ton of fan speculation that, ironically, Jon is not actually Ned's son.
I really preferred following Robb after-the-facts through Cat like in the book to the actual following of Robb during-the-facts in the show.
New trailer!
Why does she want the red woman dead again?
Something to do with the bastard she was traveling with before the Hound, I believe.
did he got killed? i cant remember if he got killed or is taken 'hostage'
(SPOILER)He almost got sacrificed but one of the guys working for what's his face ('cause I'm so good with names) helped set him free and he was last seen sailing off in a boat.
Is that Dornish boy dueling with a sword???
Ugh season ruined
I've been wolfing down these books and am desperately trying to get through them before the new season starts. Two left! I wish I had read the books before watching the show. It made getting through the first two absolutely agonizing because I already knew what was happening and it seemed to just drag on. A Storm of Swords was delightful, though, and I enjoyed it very much. I won't make the mistake again with watching something before I read it.
I am refusing to watch any and all of the trailers. Just want to enjoy the premier when it happens!
im doing it the other way, shorty, im reading after the season :P
so far my experience with first reading the books: it ruined the movie/serie (harry potter :l )
im almost through the 1st book of game of thrones.. i think ive been a good year bussy with it now :l..
to many and to long pauzes every time xD
