Article: SQUARE ENIX announces FINAL FANTASY EXPLORERS for Nintendo 3DS

Announced in Jump Magazine this week, Square Enix is going to grace the 3DS with a wonderful multiplayer Action-RPG where players can choose through several classic FF job classes to explore a world and collect crystals while battling famous FF Summons.

The article featured four classic Final Fantasy Jobs. The Black Mage focuses on attacking enemies from a distance, White Mage heals and buffs the party, the Monk is a quick damage dealer utilizing a powerful Dash move and the Knight is focused on defending weaker party members with their superior defense.

More jobs will be featured in the game and different combinations will be needed to take on the various summon monsters like Ifrit who was shown in the article.

While the game has no release date yet, we shall hopefully see more of it in the future at events like the Tokyo Game Show or Jump Fiesta.

Bravery Default is not technically a spin-off, though it pretty much is. It is a new IP that largely takes and modernizes several old school FF conventions into something palatable for modern taste.

Hardly fixed. That came out when the company's reputation was still relatively untarnished. Bravely Default did much to restore it now.
