RDR's ending is the only way it could possibly end, but it still surprised me and was one of the most powerful endings in video games.

Yeah I'll agree that it really was the only way the story could play out but because you become so invested in the main character, in a way few sandbox games have done, RDR creates that moment of pure drama that tugs hard on the heart strings of the player.

Danielle and I played Freelancer co-op style, and it was awesome. I can't for the life of me understand why there is not a new game with similar mechanics that is not an MMO. If they made a modern sci-fi game where you had to do Freelancer-esque missions, co-op style, it would be amazing. But they're all single player or they're MMO. And that's just meh.

I know. They were planning on making a freelancer 2, which apparently was nearly done, when the company was bought out and the project canceled. I cannot figure out why microsoft wont continue the project considering the huge fanbase the game has. They pretty much have the story all set up with the return of the don kavosh and the opening up of the rest of the galaxy.

Persona P3P is my next 'big' PSP game I'm going to play but I'm a little saturated with JRPGs at the moment, so I wanted to try something a little different. I did some searches on 'best PSP games' and found that a little gem called Mega Man Powered Up, a remake of the first Mega Man game, exists. So I'm going to give it a try. Apparently you can play as the original 6 robot masters at some point and the game also features two new robot masters, which sounds pretty cool.

Currently playing...

FFTA2 on my DS, I enjoy the game though I'm at the "late game" part, my clan is pretty much indefeatable, I've mastered most jobs and I've completed in the region of 260 quests (obviously excluding any repeated quests) I really ought to cracking on the actual quests coming up but I'm attempting to build some characters up who join the party (Vaan, Penelo, Frimelda, Hurdy for example) I just wish getting them to learn new abilities didn't take so bloody long, currently slogging through the soldier job on both Vaan and Frimelda, the white mage job on Penelo and just mastered black mage and moogle knight for Hurdy.

On my 360 I've been alternating:

AC1 been trying to find the energy to complete this, unfortunately I'm a perfectionist so I feel obligated to hunt the flags down. Been trying to ignore that and just complete the damn game so I can play AC2 and Brotherhood before borrowing Revelations prior to AC3 coming out in the fall! God help me.

ME3, I just imported my ME3 shepherd from my completed paragon run through and cranked the difficulty up to Insanity level. I've been doing just fine when I don't forget not to make stupid mistakes, though it looks like I'm going to need to redo it because I fucked up, I equipped my scorpion pistol on mars as it is one of my favourite pistols (who doesn't like a pistol what fires grenades pack an smg with ultra light materials and an assault rifle and you're essentially a walking tank) however the explosive rounds take too long to explode during the face off with the EDI body on the roof and so I keep getting killed.

Finished Heavy Rain a few days ago. While it's not controlled like a conventional video game and it feels like a movie or a tv mini-series, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I will definitely play it again to see the different endings.

I just started inFamous and I'm finding it a bit slow. It's a sandbox kind of game, but it's not as engrossing as GTA is. It's fun, and there are definitely elements of it that are awesome. Am I the only one who thinks of Static Shock when playing inFamous?

I just finished Xenoblade Chronicles not too long ago, so I'm less inclined to jump into anything new. So I am mostly going through older games, or titles I haven't finished yet. Right now, I'm in a FF kick so I've been replaying FFI on Virtual Console, FFVI Advance, and surprisingly, Dissidia Duodecim, though I am quickly being reminded how my OCD makes the game far more irritating than it was meant to be... :sweatdrop

Lately, I've been thinking of either playing through Civilization 2 again, finally starting Skyward Sword, or even start a new RPG project on RPG Maker.

Wrapped up Super Mario Galaxy with the boyfriend last week. We had a race to see who would get 120 stars first. That involved having two TV's, two Nintendo wii's and two copies of Super Mario Galaxy. No problemo:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v17/levia/550697_10151832577640507_1276119596_n.jpg

It was incredible tight all the way through, we were almost always one star away from eachother the whole time, with the maximum being three stars at one point. I got the 120th star when he had 119 stars, and he got his last star while I was fighting bowser. I only won by about three minutes. Close! Looking forward to our upcoming Super Mario Galaxy 2 race.

Right now I'm playing the HD version of Shadow of the Colossus, and I'm also playing some Portal 2. I really want to start up Sinking Island as well.

OMRPG Serenia Fantasy

Gameplay: it's an RPG, repetitive. As an online game, it doesn't leave itself much room to experiment with mini-games and tweaks in the mechanics. I enjoy item hunting, but that is also repetitive.
Mechanics: point-and-click... no further interaction. I don't know how many ORPGs have an auto system, but you can setup your character to automatically attack certain creatures (usually this includes Elites but you can disable that... unfortunately, if you're hunting Elites and there are normal monsters near, there's no way to tell your character to distinguish between the two), usually there are links in the quests that you receive which by clicking on them cause your character to not only attack automatically but travel over long distances to the location where the monster can be found. Certain skills in your arsenal are usually used automatically too, but I have yet to understand how that system works.
Events: I'm not yet at a high enough level for "true events" but I have engaged in a side adventure called Instance multiple times. Since I have no allies yet, I use an auto-party to survive the aggressive mass armies and the LV60 boss at the end.
Quests: Pretty much every quest leads to a new one. Then there are "Daily Quests", one list requiring you to speak to the Quest Agent, and another list which exists on your daily reminder board.
Avatar: Costumes can be found rarely (I joined because I heard of a Cloud costume), and you can choose whether to show you're wearing it. There's apparently a costume that allows you to appear Naked as I've seen at least twelve people or maybe it was the same two people repeatedly. At level 20, (after approaching a Crusader Marshal in the Imperial City about Instance) you can obtain a mount which is also an optional display. Early on, you obtain the ability to take on Spirit forms of various monsters by hatching Spirit Eggs (usually these hatches are unsuccessful but you get two free ones to start). You have no access to your regular arsenal of skills while in these forms, so sometimes, it's just a costume, but you have access to the monster's skills so you can still attack sometimes.
Obtaining Items: I've mentioned the hunting/gathering, but many items you obtain through quests along with EXP, Gold, or Talent points. There's a crafting system also (I've always enjoyed making my own stuff like in Star Ocean, Castlevania, Rogue Galaxy, etc) not only for making new items but for upgrading the original version.

Decided to do a complete playthrough of the first Final Fantasy (NES version). I haven't played the game in over 20 years, so it's pretty fun trying to remember all of the stuff in the game, and there's quite a bit of nostalgia too. I'm also quickly remembering how much grinding there is in the early parts of the game. :p

Been playing quite a bit of Endless Space as well. It first caught my eye when it went up on Steam. I think it's the first game to pretty much get set up for what amounts to Alpha Funding that has appeared on the service (correct me if I'm wrong). It's probably my favorite 4X game since Master of Orion 2 (sorry, Galactic Civilization 2, can we still be friends?). Liking the Pilgrims a lot as a science-based race, and want to fiddle around a bit more with the Sowers and Ameabas at some point.

Other than that, I've had random compulsions to play classic Ridge Racer games (mostly R4 and Rage). While I'm not a fan of recent games in the series, I always love coming back to earlier installments now and then. :)

Started Command & Conquer 3 in honor of the 75% off sale of all C&C titles on Steam right now. I really wanted this game when I got my last laptop, but the specs were just below required. I was really excited to download it. I only played the first GDI mission and I think they really nailed the aesthetics with the story and cutscenes hard. Not so sure about the gameplay. It just seems like more Tiberian Sun, but I'll take more Tiberian Sun anyday over the horrible things I heard they did in C&C4 or the weird things they did in RA3.

Mega Man Powered Up was fun but going through the same areas over and over gets repetitive. I then tried Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles which is way old school, maybe too much for my tastes, but the graphics are stunning.

I am now diving into Persona P3P and it's a...weird game. When WK said in another thread that it's half high school dating sim, half dungeon crawler, I thought he was exaggerating...but he's not at all. It took a bit to get into but so far I'm hooked. Dungeon crawlers usually bore me after a while though so we'll see.

Wolf Kanno
07-05-2012, 10:59 PM
Some advice on the dungeon crawler aspect of P3. If you hit the square button while exploring the dungeon, you can change what your party does, like making them split up and explore the dungeon for you so you get the loot and find the exit without worrying too much about fighting. You can also have them prioritize fighting without you, so they can level without you. I find this makes exploring the dungeons much less repetitive and quicker. You can also change the music with the square button as well so you don't have to hear the same music over and over.

Bouncing back and forth between Skyrim, which is somehow not really hooking me in but allowing me to zone out for hours in that beautiful open world game auto pilot, and Fallout 3 which has sucked months out of my life now. I'm damned close to 100% trophies and locations explored in FO3, but I'm suffering from burn out. After a few hundred hours of grinding and fetch quests even the most compelling games will do that to you. So I play FO3 til I can't take it, then Skyrim for a while, then I go back to Fallout because I miss the vibe of the wasteland.

There is a new game+ where you can also enter time trials and earn new items and weapons.

Personally though, I've never gotten sick of even just the regular game. Sick of some of the more obnoxious colossi perhaps, but I've played through the game several times over the years. It's still just as fun, even if some of the sense of awe you get from playing it for the first time is gone.

This will only be my second full play through of the game and so far it's as amazing as it was last time. I still find it a challenge due to the awkward camera control.

I agree with Pete also... I don't think I could ever get bored of riding around the world on Agro. Not even Zelda can match it for that. Though Red Dead Redemption may just edge it in the 'open world on a horse' department.

Brotherhood is even better.
You can pretty much skip Revalations, all it adds is two new tools and two new moves.
One of the moves is useless, one of the tools most certainly would not be used by a stealthy assassin, and the other one doesn't even make sense in terms of anatomy or physics. Also the town in Revalations kinda sucks. (the collection missions are epic though)

Assassin's Creed 2 and I really haven't got enough good things to say about it. A big jump forward from the first game for sure!

You are just wrong:penciltrick:. Revelations is awesome, it's not as glitchy , flows better, Constantinople is a hell of a lot more fun than empty Rome, easily the best story and pacing in the whole damn series, and bombs are fun. Not to mention the Brotherhood system is a hell of lot better barring the Tower defense game, but considering it's really easy to skip it altogether, it's not a problem.

Honestly, I feel Brotherhood is the weak link of the Ezio trilogy. It's buggy, it's sub missions are infuriatingly annoying, it's story is simple but gets dragged out for 20+hours, the vehicle missions are more frustrating than fun. Rome is mostly empty country, the Guilds are treated like they are important but instead they are just extra padding and an excuse to re-use characters from AC2, the Subject 16 missions cycle through the same three damn puzzles. Honestly, Brotherhood really does feel like a DLC chapter that got padded, and released as a full game.

It has much more relevance to the overall story than something that just takes place in desmonds head during a coma. Yes it leads to him knowing where to go next, but desmond is actually interesting in brotherhood. Most people I've talked to agree Constantinople is kind of lame. Again, I will give it the gather missions are awesome, but mostly the game just feels redundant. The whole thing could have been acomplished by one long cutscene.

Except Revelations finally gives you background on Desmond, actually expanding on what little the previous three games mention in passing, as well as finally meeting (well sort of) Subject 16. Not to mention Revelations finally reveals (rather beautifully I might) the ending chapters to both Altair and Ezio, who are both infinitely more interesting than Desmond will ever be. Brotherhood basically spends its time showing you that Cesare is evil, which was established in the first fifteen minutes of the game, whereas Revelations actually has Ezio deep into Ottoman politics with a couple twists and turns and betrayals. You never really know if you are helping the good guys or not, the game really brought back the element of AC1 where you can't tell if you are actually helping or just making a bigger mess out of things. The new cast members were also more interesting.

I can't really grasp how jumping from one Italian city to another is more fun than jumping from a former Roman city now turned into one of the biggest Ottoman capitals in the world. Climbing the minarets was fun and the landmarks were more interesting because the Western world doesn't like talking about Constantinople, whereas they won't shut up about Rome. The mix of Greek, Arabic, and Roman architecture made it visually more interesting than Rome who has a few derelict Roman buildings and the Coliseum and little else to look at that wasn't copied/paste from ACII. The Marco Polo quest also felt way fresher than the Brutus Cult from Brotherhood, which not only didn't go anywhere story wise, but ultimately was just a copy paste of the Assassin's Tombs quest in it's entirety (though the masquerade mission was pretty cool) with your victory being another new "ultimate armor" and weapon.

It's not that I hate Brotherhood, I just honestly felt like it was something either meant for ACII and was cut due to time, or it was meant to be a DLC. While the Desmond sections were nice in Brotherhood, I just find him boring even if he's the "chosen one" and I felt the Desmond sections were better about expanding the quirky support cast of Assassins. Still, the Desmond puzzles in Revelations are just awesome, and I really liked how they mixed his narrative with the level design.

To be honest guys I wanna get both. I really enjoy the Assassin's Creed gameplay style. The free running & combat blend is a lot of fun. I loved The Saboteur but Assassin's Creed 2 (AC1 not so much) executes the premise in a much more polished manner. I was honestly very surprised with some of the gameplay elements in AC2. Rebuilding the city with the Auditore residence in it was a nice touch I must say thus giving the player an actual incentive to do the slightly repetitive side quests. Getting to each of the Assassin's tombs presents the player with reasonably challenging free running sections & the Templar hideouts are also pretty decent.

It is a pity I have left it this long to dive into what appears to be one of the strongest franchises in gaming.

i was so happy that i had my old stuff from my old saves in ac2 and then friggin fraggin story occured, which makes sense i guess.

I'm currently in Chapter 11 of Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, it's basically a God of War clone with some elements of Shadow of the Colossus mixed in in both the story and gameplay. I used to think I didn't really like GoW gameplay, but now I'm thinking I just hated Kratos and the Greek setting and the gameplay was it's saving grace.

It's a nice reboot entry with plenty of series in-jokes spread throughout the game, and while I already had the ending spoiled for me (though this twist is what actually made me finally buy it) but the story isn't half bad and having Patrick Stewart play a large role in the games story as a prominent character and as the narrator, really makes me excited to see the start of new chapters. The game play is pretty good, though the platforming segments suffer from the bad camera changes due to pre-rendered backgrounds. It wasn't so bad in the starting chapters but some of the later chapters become really frustrating because either the controls reverse when the camera changes in mid movement onto a new screen, or sometimes the controls get stuck when you are trying to activate levers. Button placement is also a mess as the R2 and L3 buttons have too many abilities attached to them and the circumstances that change the activation of one ability over another is very slim. I'm pretty bad about mashing in the analog sticks when I'm moving so having them actually use them as buttons for absorbing magic (which keeps you stationary) as well as movement can be frustrating.

Overall, it's flawed but pretty fun.

Well the DLC material (http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lost_Archive) actually answers some of the cliffhanger ending to Brotherhood. The Revelations answers the other half concerning the Precursors.

There's more Desmond in Revelations than any of them. You learn a lot about him, his upbringing, how he ended up where he is, and how he's connected to the Assassin Brotherhood. I'm not really sure what HC is talking about when he says it's a different story and you don't learn what happened. They only spend the whole game talking about the end of Brotherhood. But yes, it does also serve as the conclusion to Ezio's story, as far as the games go anyway (the CGI film Assassin's Creed: Embers actually shows the end of Ezio's story).

But it, like all the others, ends on a cliffhanger as well. We won't know what the hell happens until Assassin's Creed III. I'm really interested in how they're going to end it with the whole 2012 Doomsday thing since they're making it a point to end it before that date actually comes.

One of the voices is everyone's favorite Brit Shaun and the other is William, the guy Lucy is always emailing and the overseer of their unit. Juno taking over Desmond's body at the end of Brotherhood and killing Lucy caused him to go into a coma, and they throw him back into the Animus to try to restore his mind so he doesn't become like Subject 16. The majority of Desmond's story in Revelations is him trying to piece his mind back together. Instead of The Truth miniquest, you get to do a First Person puzzle platform that relays the entire backstory of Desmond's life from his childhood all the way to the present.

Well you still get the whole 2012 story being expanded on for Desmond, and as for Lucy, as I said, the DLC for Revelations will explains all that (or just go to Assassin Creed Wiki if you feel bitter about Ubisoft pulling that). Other than that, there really wasn't anything else in Brotherhood to talk about since Ezio's story is a bit of a throw away plot and Desmond being in a coma kind of explains why Desmond only speaks to the Assassin Team when the game is over. As for Lucy's fate and Subject 16, he's technically in the Animus and has access to what Desmond knows as well as the memories of Subject 16 himself who knew she was a dirty traitor.

I just finished it as well and god the pacing was terrible with that story. And I liked how Catwoman was apparently only in the main story to get captured by Poison Ivy, hung upside down for what was apparently several hours, break into a vault, then save Batman and disappear completely.

I'm hoping this stuff I get to play with her after the main story is good, otherwise having her at all was a complete waste and not much more than fan service judging by her neckline.

MLB 12: The Show.

Thats right. I like a bit of baseball. Big whoop, wanna fight about it?

I tried the demo but that put me off for one reason completely unrelated to the gameplay: the demo only let you use the analog controls, and every tutorial it provided assumed you used the buttons. I had no idea what I was doing or how, and had no way to either change the controls or read tutorials for the ones I had. The whole experience was so ass backwards that I decided I'll only bother with the game when I can find a really cheap used copy somewhere.

Just beat everyones story mode the other night.

I have a, most likely wrong, theory about The Shadow that possesses Labrys for some of the stories. Though some of them end with a human doing it. But in regards to the Shadow, it knows that the cast of 3 held back a 'god'. Nyx wasnt' really a god though, not in the typical sense. But there were two people from 3 who called it that. Ikutski, who was killed, and Takaya, who made it out alive. Takaya was also familier with some of the Kirijo Groups activities, so part of me hopes that this is him. True, he is human, but that creatures speech reminded me a lot of him, so I'm hoping he somehow made the transition to this thing. :p

I've been sinking many hours into Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning--140 and counting, to be exact. It's a shame that 38 Studios collapsed due to financial mismanagement, because this game could have been a prelude to a great series. Anyway, I finished the Legend of Dead Kel DLC, so I'll be tackling the Teeth of Naros DLC next before I resume gallivanting through Klurikon.

I've also been mainly playing Halo: Reach and Gears of War 3 for my multiplayer fix. I just finishing getting all of the achievements in the former and ranked up to General Grade 1 last night. The latter can be frustrating to play at times; unless you have a competent and communicative team backing you up, you're going to have a bad time playing ranked matches, assuming you can even find enough people in ranked to begin with. However, no other shooter I've played can replicate the feeling you get when you blow an entire team to smithereens with a well-placed frag grenade or when you nab the win by dancing around your opponent with your Gnasher. Seriously 3.0 might come to me one of these days . . . maybe after my first year of medical school, at my current rate.

also have been playing a fair amount of Counter Strike: Source in anticipation of Global Offensives release this month.

So you're getting it on PC I take it? I preordered it (why the hell not when it's $13?) and was playing a bit of the Beta earlier. Feels a lot different than CS:S. I'll need to get used to the changed weapons, molotovs/incendiary grenades are pretty awesome for controlling some space, and the movement feels faster. It's definitely a different game than CS:S even though all the parts are there, but I think it's probably for the best. Feels pretty fun to play so far and having a change from CS:S after so many years of playing it is a refreshing feeling.

escobert
08-15-2012, 02:31 AM

08-15-2012, 02:38 AM
Yeah, thing about most people who are still playing CS:S at this point is that they wouldn't be happy unless it was CS:S with new levels, and then they'd still complain. The community reaction to CS:S was actually quite similar originally. I've played every iteration of CS starting from the early betas of the original though and I find this one quite enjoyable. Certainly a refreshing change after what? 8 years of CS:S?

escobert
08-15-2012, 02:44 AM
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I like source but I defiantly feel it could be made better. Hopefully GO will be that! Someone said it had more of a BF3/COD feel than Source. did you notice that at all?

Slothy
08-15-2012, 02:53 AM
It's certainly noticeably faster paced than CS:S, or at least it feels that way, and the levels have a lot more detail. I also think the character models look a bit more generic than they used to (except for the CT's anyway who always looked pretty generic) so maybe that's where some of that comes from. It's definitely still CS though. Brutal weapon spread, no iron sights, different movement speed with different weapons, slowing down a bit after jumping, etc. If you try to run and gun just like a COD game or something you won't get very far.

I Am Alive remains in the gaming wilderness for me but unlike FF13 I may actually bother finishing it

Started a new save on Fallout 3 out of utter boredom & despite having trashed this game a few times I'm actually kind of enjoying it. The female character with the black widow perk is seriously the way to go.

Went back to play some Endless Space last night. I could swear I put it on an easy setting, but the computer seems to disagree. One of my star systems was being invaded by a Pirate fleet with their little overall fleet power score being about 3,000. My best fleet? Around 1,100. Yup, I lost a lot of good ships there. And how about the guy I'm at war with who's already lost several star systems to me and is down to like 5-6? Throwing fleets with scores in the 1,500 range at me thank you very much. I think it's time to declare a cease fire, research a ton of weapons and other technologies which facilitate killing him, then go and kill him. Luckily I did research enough to get some new fleets into the 2,000 range in terms of power before I went to bed. It's a bit better than getting slaughtered in the first round of combat.

Unfortunately, I just became close allies with another race who decided to introduce me to that race that only tries to kill everyone else who was on the other side of the galaxy. And by on the other side, I mean they literally are the other side and one of my allies is almost dead. Why must you rub in the fact that I suck Endless Space?

Don't use Lightning or physical attacks. That's like the absolute worst thing you can do to that boss because they automatically counter every single attack with something based on what you hit them with, and their Light and Physical counters are by far the strongest. What you really wanna do is have Lucca hit them with her strongest all-hitting spell and have Crono and Marle spam Aura Whirl. It's a bit of a crap healing tech but considering how little damage their Fire counter does you should be fine.

I beat them last time with that strategy I mentioned before though... But this time I changed the strategy. I started the battle with Lightning2, spammed Arc Impulse (1900 damage per hit), and cast Double Cure when my party was around 200-300 HP, that worked nicely.

So, now on-topic: played Chrono Trigger all day, made it quite far. Only 3-4 sidequests to do, then it is time for Lavos!

I finally assembled the courage to remove the Souls games from my PS3 and insert Metal Gear Solid 4. It's been about 3 years since I last played it and I always thought of it as one of my favorite games, but I don't think I can be as positive about this game as I used to be.

It seems for every pro in this game I come across a con to balance it out. The opening sequence with the Gekko you have to avoid is stunning, thrilling and pure awesomeness in concept. However, the controls for this game feel too loose to handle a situation like this. There's a scripted bit where a Gekko jumps out of a wall somewhere in the level. Me, being the legendary soldier Solid Snake, figured I'd just quickly roll past him and roll into the doorway on the other side. Sounds perfect on paper, but the controls feel so loose this is what actually happened: pulled off the first roll, but I didn't get far enough so I pressed X again for another one. This however made Snake lie down on his belly. IN FRONT OF THE GEKKO. Doomed for sure.

Also, MGS has always been stealth for me and even though you get the option to run and gun in this installment, I don't want to. In stealth games there are a few basic rules to make it work: the player needs to get the time and intel to plan his move accordingly, and patience has to be rewarded. However, both of these rules get screwed over by the spawnpoints of endless streams of soldiers that only get triggered once you've moved past a certain point. Your entire move-planning goes down the drain, and your patience is obviously not rewarded. I'm only just past the FROGS battle and I already had multiple situations where I got pinned down or spotted by enemies suddenly spawning behind me, leaving no choice but to fight my way back out.

Then there's the cutscene where you meet Johnny and Meryl's team. Snake pulls off some awesome CQC moves and I'm thinking 'yup, that's the legendary soldier alright', but when the controls are back in my hands Snake immediately returns to being a clumsy tit. And therefore I'm a clumsy tit. It just doesn't give me the feeling I'm that superslick, stealthy infiltrator action hero this game is supposed to make me feel like. It's more like, pray you can pull this one sequence off without getting spotted for once.

I yearn for the tight controls and stealth mechanics of MGS1.

I already discussed my opinion of it in the game difficulty thread, so I'll instead say that I'm probably going to pick up where I left off with Dead Space. I believe I was right before the Leviathan boss fight when I last played; hopefully, I won't need to start over again like I'll have to with Red Dead Redemption and Final Fantasy XIII.

KINGDOM HEARTS, FILL ME WITH THE POWER OF DARKNESS
indeed, I am still playing the original KH, I only have SOME time to play on the weekends, and I still have all the optional bosses to beat. I'm still adoring the crap out of this game too.

Finished Chrono Trigger for the 6th time or so, now it is time for New Game+ to get all secret endings! I am amazed how this game feels fresh after playing it through so many times.

Not playing anything right now actually. I simply lack the time. I haven't had much of an urge to game either XD
Once Thanksgiving break comes along, I'll start gaming more though.
Curse actually having after-school activities this year!

Was forced to play Slender Man over the weekend, of which it was proven that horror games don't really frighten me very much (or at least low budget ones). I had more fun scaring my GF and her roommate as my friend and I purposely seeked out the Slender Man.

Based on recommendations from the members of this forum I have decided to try Nine Persons, Nine Doors, Nine Hours (or whatever order it is). It's pretty gripping so far, though I'm getting annoyed that about 75% of the game is reading over text from cutscenes. Let me get to the puzzles!

I've now started with Final Fantasy XIII-2
It's really pretty, but still linear like XIII. I like it though :D

Well, I put Dead Space on the backburner in favor of Borderlands 2, and I'm loving every minute of it. My random teammates tend to be stupid, but they do let me get most of the loot, so that's a plus.

It's an awesome game, but it's more like an interactive book with some puzzles here and there than an actual game. Definitely gotta be in a book mood rather than a gaming mood to enjoy the game. Ace Attorney gamers should know the feeling.

But yeah, intense game. I keep forgetting there's a sequel coming up and then I get all jelly-like on the inside when I'm reminded of it. Love that feeling.

Playing:
Uncharted 2
Final Fantasy X-2
Skyward Sword

gonna ditch them all once Resident Evil 6 is released.

I beat 999 and got the knife ending, which naturally left me unsatisfied. I do like the ability to skip through seen text in further playthroughs, though it would be nicer to be able to skip puzzles as well. It seems as though to get all the endings you will have to go through most of the puzzles twice and some even three times. I may take a break after this second go around so that I don't get too annoyed with that. I found a handy flowchart online that shows what doors I have to go through to get each ending so that will help minimize repetition.

I'm playing through Skyrim again with new characters to experience the full extent of Dawnguard and Hearthfire's effects on the game, really enjoying it after leaving it on the back-burner for so long.
