We also got a taller gate for Penny- one that actually has a door in it. Jay had to drill holes in the walls to get installed so that Penny can't knock it down. There's even a little door for Kitty to get in and out for water while we're gone.

Being able to afford to buy new pants on the whim and put them on when my old ones became soaked in the rain despite wearing a rain coat, boats, and having an umbrella. What made me happier is that the jeans fit perfectly length and waist wise, and they're made of a soft denim material that's also retractable. They only cost me 5353593535 dollars.

Wow, I just got a call from the transplant center notifying me that they have a new system. With this new system, my priority number has jumped up exponentially so I could be getting a kidney transplant from a donor within the next couple months, if not now.

I just woke up and there's no coffee yet. My brother is in town, sister and her husband+son are on the way, and my mom is running herself ragged trying to get all the things done.

This won't mean anything to most people but, I've always wanted a "Family Wall" where there are a bunch of family portraits hanging up. I didn't have the most normal or stable childhood, so I never had one of those, and it would always feel so welcoming and loving when I would see them in other people's homes.

Well, now we have a hallway leading in from our front door that will be dedicated entirely to family photos! Obviously the wall will change and grow as time goes on, but I have a good start already and I'm super excited about it!

Denmark and I are leaving on the 3rd and will be in the DC area until the 11th. Pretty dang excited! There was just one hiccup: my car.

Our complex plows when it snows (which is awesome and I'm super grateful for it) and since we're in the northeast, we get some decent snows. The thing is, you have to move your car to another building for them to do it. Generally they wait until everyone is at work so they have much less fuss. But, if you don't move your car, they will tow (at your expense) and impound.

There isn't really too much snow on the forecast for the next few days, but I was worried about leaving my car here if it DID snow. We did have a back up plan (which was me taking my car to Denmark's parents' house, but that's like an extra hour and a half driving out of our way) but I called the office and they said I can just take my car up to the clubhouse and leave it there! Also, I'll feel more comfortable leaving it there where employees of the complex are seeing it every day, so it's less likely to get broken in to (not that I was particularly worried or expecting that to happen).

So yeah, big stress taken care of!

One day off. If you were going to be there on the 2nd we could have had a DC EoFF impromptu get-together.

I really hope the snow waits a bit. I want to come back from DC to KY the short way, which involves some shitty mountain roads. Not so bad when it's clear, but not fun at all if there's snow.

I hate wishing against snow, though. There hasn't been nearly enough snow this year (for me).

This is so, so amazing! :D I'm glad things are turning out so well and so quickly! Now you can let go of some stress and fully appreciate baby and holiday stuff (albeit belated)! Glad to hear he's doing better. :)

He came home for lunch today before going back to hosp later this avo. He was really emotional and kept saying he never thought he'd be back here at the house. He was desperate for me to cook him some steak (I make a mean steak), and although trying to surpress being sick nearly killed me and I'm now paying for it- I made it for him and he said it was incredible. So thankful.

I had a lengthy talk with my father today about how even though he and my mother split up when I was just seven years old, I can't say I ever suffered from it at all. Probably because they just handled it really well, never pinning blames or anything (in fact it took years until I eventually asked what the cause was and it was the same for my brothers), and I still got to see my father at least once per week. The more I think about it the more amazing I think it is that they managed to pull that off that well, especially whenever I hear anyone else's experiences with parents breaking up. Makes me really appreciate how lucky I am.

I surprised him with a big Filipino dinner!

I didn't expect that reaction from him.

Posting in this thread is about the last thing I thought I'd be doing in a while. Yesterday I was rock bottom. I've lost a stone and a half in 5 weeks due to severe morning sickness and it really has been the crappiest time. Dad's gone back into hospital for his next lot of chemo today too.

And then out of the blue, I woke up about 2 hours ago not feeling *too* sick (a miracle). I went downstairs and managed to make AND EAT (!!) a sandwich. Then I decided to play around with this fetal doppler that I bought (a device to listen to baby's heartbeat).

Anyway, all of a sudden, I heard it!!! I heard the baby's heartbeat! It was so fast- it's supposed to be. And in a flash, it was gone. A real little wriggler because then I struggled to find it again, but it has made me feel really happy which is a feeling I have been totally missing for the last 6 weeks. I'm hoping baby will play later so his/her Daddy can hear. 11 weeks pregnant today :-)

I recorded my best video ever this morning. I have $45 in my pocket. I have no less than 7 guitars and a keyboard. I have two high-quality effects consoles. I have a PA system, a USB interface and an iPhone. I have two Final Fantasy games for that iPhone.

My nuclear family are all alive and all still speak to me. I am writing my best songs yet and tracking lead guitar at the studio where Taylor Swift recorded her debut album.

I have a NES clone that works almost perfectly and only cost $26. I have a copy of Final Fantasy I.

The weather is getting warmer. My neighborhood is as peaceful as ever. I make 0.02 cents every time my songs get played on Spotify.

After being hit hard with depression over the weekend, I manged to pull myself out of that rut in record time. I had help from friends/loved ones, too. I still feel foolish, but part of being an adult is to own up to these sort of things.

I also need to post in this thread more because there are plenty of things that make me happy, so I probably should use this thread as an excuse to make a log of it. Next time I feel bad, I can read what I put and see if it helps.

I cleaned my room today. You might not consider that much of a thing, but the honest truth of the matter is that today marks the first day I've ever spent in a house that was neat and orderly from top to bottom, and I wasn't just a guest, nor staying in a hotel.

I'm still coughing a lot though. :( I'm battling with respiratory problems tooth and nail this winter. This doesn't bode well at all...

My mom's been sick, so I been helping her out. She seemed very happy, and again, it felt good to help make someone feel happy. She's always been there for me when I've been sick. The next few weeks will be exhausting but a lot of fun. I got tickets to these things this January or February: Distant Worlds, Phantom of the Opera for Broadway week (so tickets were much cheaper), and Universal Studios in California -- I've already been to the one in Orlando. Very exciting!

Also the launch of the website I did modeling for is now live and the teaser video for my feature film is very close to being done. We just watched the fine cut of it today. Soon we will be launching the indiegogo campaign for post production and distribution funds. ^_^

My boyfriend's school put in a recommendation for him to intern at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan!

He didn't even ask for it! He just asked I guess omeone in admin about applying for an internship since that's the next step, and they told him they'd already done it for him and where it is.

I'm absolutely floored right now. I know he's incredibly smart and at the top of his class, but I didn't know that his teachers really thought so highly of him.

We're all just waiting to hear back from the hospital.. Hopefully it'll be soon!! Fingers crossed he gets it!

On Saturday I went to the farmers' market to buy cheap pineapples, and today I tried out my food dehydrator for the first time. My dehydrated pineapples are delicious.

But even better! Last week Disneyland posted that they were holding auditions for Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, and Jedi. They said Jedi could be male or female, but Vader and Storm Troopers had to be male. I contacted the casting coordinator and asked him what's up with that, seeing as the characters don't talk. He said he'd get back to me, and today he did! He said ladies are welcome and he re-sent the flier to everyone with "male or female." Yay!

Got my cooling/heating unit fixed today. What makes me so happy about home repair? Well, when it broke I thought I was going to have to pay some sort of fee even though it is under warranty. I have a couple of things that made me happy today!

First, I got my W-2 in from my day job (it's a tax form for you non-Americans; tells you how much you made that year.) It turns out that I made more than I thought I did, and I think that this, combined with my freelancing, should nudge me riiiight over the hill so I can sponsor Mister Adequate and get him a visa to move here :love: (Granted, we still need the money for paperwork, but BABY STEPS!)

I've been quite poor about organization in my room lately. I've let my art supplies turn into a mountain in front of my closet and since I got back from Portland, I've just thrust my bags and clothes there as well, not wanting to deal with putting things away. Did some major hardcore cleaning and purging tonight, though, and have just a little bit left to finish tomorrow.

It feels nice and refreshing, and I finally have a space for meditation again and to try yoga again. I've overstressed myself to maximum capacity lately and my body is suffering from it. When I initially attempted meditation over the summer, the results I felt from practicing were so rewarding, so I am excited to get back to that level of relaxation.
