A few days ago, I went to a midnight showing of Princess Mononoke at the Esquire Theater downtown. The very same theater I went to watch it the first time back in 1999 during it's initial release in the States. At that time, I was an avid anime fan who would consume whatever I could find as the medium was only in the beginning phases of it's explosive popularity in the 2000s, so the prospect of being able to watch an anime flick in an actual movie ...
  2. April 1st Update

by , 04-02-2016 at 09:40 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
The first of April has come and gone, and as some of you might know, a whole bunch of Japanese companies seem to be under the impression that that is the perfect date to announce important new projects and updates. Real ones as well as fake ones. Thankfully April 2nd has exposed the fakes and we are left with only the reals now. So what did we get?

planetarian is getting an anime movie adaptation. planetarian is a short (~3h) visual novel made by Key. It's also very good. If you need ...
  3. Anime Survey

I made an anime survey to use for an anime feud game at an anime convention. I spread it around on some forums and it's got about a dozen serious responses. One person answered everything with Cory in the house (I know it's meme, but that is clearly not what I'm after). If anyone wants to give me some usable answers for this survey, you can take it here:

This short animation anthology combines visual elements of industrialism, postmodern urban life, with a search for the extraordinary. Often taking place on the outskirts of society, representing itself as factories and abandoned buildings at the edge of the city. Some of the works take a more subtle approach by placing ...

  5. A Bass cover of Caramelldansen I did

I thought I'd put it up in a blog as self pimping songs and covers in threads with no reason or subject other than "Look at this!" isn't really what I want to do with this... Ironic kinda that back in the hey day I was a notorious spamming dickbutt. XP

Anyways here's a cover I did as a request from some friends of one of the most jumpy and overtly happy songs I've ever heard. I got a backing track from guitar pro and fiddled with the RSE instruments ...
