Christmas is a pretty nice time, and it's good to have a Christmas holiday. I like taking it easy, though it annoys me sometimes when some of my family members are all panicking about Christmas cleaning and whatnot, making a big noise out of nothing, methinks. I've also been ill on many Christmases, so that one's often been bothering me. I'm not a big fan of casserole food on Christmas, but ham is good. Not to mention Christmas porridge. :love: What I also like about Christmas is the PuPu avatar. Oh wait, wrong topic...

But more to the thread, I really really love Christmas. A week ago I was thinking to myself how its Christmas soon.
I LOVE the whole Christmas buzz, and opening presents, I just love opening them, and opening my door in a morning and seeing a huge bag with my name on it :excited:
I have such fond christmas memorys. We used to invite relatives round and eat Christmas dinner and then play Monopoly. I loovve Monopoly.
I love how at everyone at school smiles even if its miserable weather and its freezing cold. I love how teachers let you off work just because its Christmas. I love Christmas :D
I love Christmas my brothers used to wake me up and we would force everyone in the house to get up so we could open presents.:)
But now i sleep in longer and i let my relatives wake up in their own time and im not as anxiouse to open my presents last year i dont think i even wrote a wishlist and i let them get whatever for me. Im sad i used to get in the Christmas spirit so easily but im still younge so that shouldn't be a problem. I think i'll be more demanding this year they had it coming since so far ive been the least expensive sibling in the family. Plus im broke and i have a feeling i'll waste my money before Christmas so that they will be forced to get me what i want Muhahah...!
Notice my first thought about Christmas wasn't even about the religion but the tree and presents.hmmmm.......
Just another holiday, like most others. I suppose the presents are nice.

Call me selfish, but I don't mind a season where I get stuff, and give stuff to people I care about to see them smile. I quite like it. There isn't much else to Christmas that I enjoy besides the gift giving and receiving. Religion? I'm an atheist. The food? I can hardly eat Christmas food (basically ham), I'm a vegetarian and a picky eater. So yup, the gifts are nice. :jess:

I agree with lovehurts. Because Christmas makes companies money, it is evil. That millions of people find happiness around their holiday, and take time out of their days to spend time with family and friends and to give and receive presents as an expression of their value for each other, is irrelevent. Companies make money and greed is evil, therefore all Christmas is evil.
Also, flu season is another commercialism paradise, because flu shot manufacturers make money off of it. That people don't get sick and die as a result of those shots is irrelevent.

Chill down, man, you already stated your opinion quite a while ago.
You know, lovehurts, in all honesty I think guys like you have completely misunderstood the season in question.
It's not really about commercialism or whatever, Christmas is actually supposed to be a time of joy for everyone, and I'm afraid the only ones who can truly appreciate it are small children.
I remember staying up forever the night before Christmas Eve (we don't celebrate Christmas Day in Sweden, everything takes place during Christmas Eve).
I would fall asleep surprisingly late for a kid, something like 12:30 AM, and wake up about 5:00 AM.
Everything was magnificent, and the whole atmosphere totally rocked.
Nowadays everything feels so... watered down. :(
Everybody complains about everything, time passes way too fast, and I just don't get the chance to catch that special feeling anymore. :cry:

I always get excited and extremely happy when I first see snow and hear holiday music, but I'm always absolutely depressed on the day itself. Not sure why.
The Christmas season is fun. I like going to the mall, so I don't mind the shopping. And I seem to be good at finding cool gifts for my family, so I always like seeing their faces. Plus, its the only time of the year that I make my Tiramisu and its pretty frickin' good, if I say so myself...:)
What's really awesome is when you start having children. Yeah, you don't get as much, but seeing them open their gifts and being all giddy is ten times better...:)
Christmas is great if you have loved ones to celebrate it with. Like boyfriends. Named Del Murder. ^_^

I hate Christmas. All I do is drive the wife around a lot so she can go shopping for other people. It's not an enjoyable experience for me.
What about whats in it for you. Cool, i have seen at most like an inch of snow in tx, its depressing.
But i love jackets and have alot so i get to bust out with them for like a month when its 60 to 40 degrees ... sometimes it gets colder, but i don't hold my breath >.<

I love christmas. It's great. I buy all the presents only a few days before and do uber-fast wrapping. Then they turn out to be rubbish and people say "Aww thanks it's....great!" but I know they're lying. I know it. Yeah, as if they got me anything good! Ooooh yey! Socks! Ooooh yey! Shower Gel! Oooh yey! *insert classic christmas gift here*.
On the plus side, it is cold.
Perfect Fuego a smiley face for you:) I remember i was really little and we had the most snow ever and i sunk into the snow almost got stuck it was great. That was the first and only year i had snow on Christmas and christma eve, the best. I wish you could get snow but everyone celebrades differently. It gets cold where i live the cold annoys me but the spirit is great. Its the only time everyone is happy:) not even on my birthday everyone is happy thats why i love this holiday so much.Quote:
