I'll be going in vaguely alphabetical order, so we're going to start out with a game I have never played before called

10,000,000
RPG/Action/Puzzle/Indie
Steam Link

So with no idea what I was going into I opened up the game and immediately this popped up:

But it turns out that this just means it's a point and click game, don't worry

You start out as a guy in a dungeon. You have a bunch of broken rooms and trout that you can repair, but you don't have any dosh, so you get to try to escape or something. This is where puzzle stuff starts happening!

Basically by sliding tiles around and matching items you can create combos which allow you to do things like, you know, hit the enemy guys or unlock chests.

Every item does something different! HOT DAMN!

Also you can get materials to repair your castle and trout.

The first level is pretty easy. Unfortunately after that the game becomes hard as balls. Basically you need to match up certain items to pass certain checkpoints (i.e. if you find a treasure chest you have to match up the keys) and if you're not in a particularly easy position to do so, then you're boned. This happens more than you would guess. Treasure chests will quickly become the bane of your existence.

On the plus side the music is really REALLY good and if you like chiptunes you should probably get this game just so you can bounce along to the bleeps and bloops.

Eventually you can rebuild stuff!

Each room has different building requirements so you have to run the dungeon until you actually meet them. But once you do you unlock cool upgrades for yourself, like so:

In a way this game is a lot like Rogue Legacy or Dark Souls, by which I mean you're going to have to run the dungeon loop a million times, and die a million times, to get anywhere. But the upgrade system makes things pretty addictive.

Like, really, really addictive.

So yeah. Nothing much else to show. It's a puzzler with some RPG elements and you'll happily waste a ton of time on it.

THE VERDICT:

  • Good
  • Worth a Steam sale buy
  • GREAT MUSIC
  • Addictive
  • Hard
  • Really hard
  • oh god hard
  • I never asked for this
  • Dark Souls if Dark Souls was a puzzle game with great chiptunes
  • Say goodbye to your life it's seriously addictive
